Curtis Nelson

He's had a bit of stick recently but he's been excellent since Mick arrived and especially in the last two games he's been MOM for me.

Had to laugh today when in the space of about five minutes in the second half he seemed to take two very hard shots right in the balls :laughing6: :o

Some great tackles too and excellent in the air.

Probably has his knackers in a bowl of ice this evening though!

He's a big man with big cahooners.......but I agree, unsung hero who has transformed himself under MM. :bluebird:

Gave him man of the match today. Did the dirty work. The amount of blocks! Those 2 in the second half in the space of a couple of minutes! Ouch.

Prior to MM, I always seen Nelson as a squad player based on what I’d seen of him. However, the last 5 games, continuous improvement has been evident and against Coventry he was one of, if not the best player on the pitch.

Nelsons mobility in a back 3 allows him to move out wide with relative ease when required. This is an area I’m concerned with Morrison in the current formation, as when he’s dragged out wide, his lack of pace can easily be exposed.

Having seen the statistics, I didn’t realise how good he was in the air either, so credit where it’s due.

Nelson has really come into his own and deserves the credit he is now getting. This formation of a back 3 is suiting his play which looks like is bringing the best out of him. It’s great to see and long may it continue
