Great to see Rubin coming through. Too often our youth have produced boys for a mens team. Maybe technically good, but no strength to stand up to rigours of professional football week in week out.

Rubin looks the part, has an athletic build and looks like he can put it about.

It does worry me having so many kids on the bench like today. We had an entire midfield out today, 5 of them. Plus Jordi. If the board insist on at least two kids on the bench, we are losing some experience that we are going to need. Such pressure from the board means it's now or never for many of the youngsters. Let's hope they are good enough to step up.

I still believe kids should come in when they are ready, AND when they train and prepare better than someone current occupying a 1st team slot.

The similarities between Colwill and Jason Fowler are uncanny.

Of course we are now playing at a higher level but Colwill does look like he has the skill and physicality to make the step up.

His performances for the u23s this season have been impressive.

Mick concluded his press conference by commenting on the introduction of midfielder Rubin Colwill, who came off the bench to make his First Team debut against the Sky Blues.

MICK McCARTHY:

“They were having enough possession that I needed all the experience I could get to be on the pitch. But Rubin went on, and he added another bit of height as well.

“He’s got a really good future in the game. I’m really excited by Rubin, and he’s a lovely kid as well.”

Brilliant to see the kids given a chance. But totally pissed of that we can't be there to encourage and cheer. Like most of us, I can't wait to get back into CCS, and I reckon if things go back to normal most clubs will have their biggest crowds for years. Would be great if we could be there for the last couple of games. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
