MY VIEW:BIG MICK TAKES CARDIFF UP TO 7TH IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

MY VIEW / OPINION

BIG MICK TAKES CARDIFF UP TO 7TH IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP TABLE IN JUST FIVE GAMES / CARDIFF WERE 16TH WHEN BIG MICK TOOK CHARGE OF HIS FIRST GAME / A FIVE MATCH UNBEATEN RUN SINCE BIG MICK ARRIVED :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Three wins in a row :bluebird: :bluebird:

Harry Wilson, Josh Murphy & Kieffer Moore all started, giving Josh Murphy a chance to claim a first team place.

You could see today how much Confidence, the players are playing with since Big Mick took over :bluebird: :bluebird:

For me Coventry tried to bully Cardiff, but our quality upfront shone through :thumbright: :bluebird:

What more could you ask for 5 games now undefeated and playing some great football :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Kieffer Moore 2 goals(13th of the season) & Josh Murphy :bluebird: :bluebird:

City did have to have their backs to the walls for the last 25mins of the game and let Coventry play, way to much.

5 Academy Players were named on the Subs bench.
A very, very young bench featured the likes of Ratcliffe, Sang, Colwill, Harris and Davies,

Lowly Coventry had serious injury problems including:
Star striker Matty Godden was out with a foot injury, as was winger Jodi Jones. Captain Liam Kelly also remained sidelined.

First-Half: Cardiff went in at h-t with a 2nil lead and deservedly so, Coventry tried to bully them, but City's quality outshone that :thumbright: :bluebird:

Second-half: City started brightly and looked good, but as the game went on Coventry had the last 25mins and really looked the better team, but thankfully it was to late.

CARDIFF CITY 3 COVENTRY CITY 1 :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 2-0 :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Dillon Phillips, Perry Ng, Curtis Nelson,Sean Morrison, Aden Flint,Joe Bennett
Marlon Pack, Will Vaulks, Harry Wilson, Josh Murphy & Kieffer Moore.

Subs: George Ratcliffe, Ciaron Brown,Joel Bagan, Tom Sang
Leandro Bacuna, Rubin Colwill,Mark Harris,Isaak Davies,Max Watters.

First 30mins, quite a rough game, City edged it, Coventry for me were trying to bully City players off the ball.

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Coventry City (Moore 31)

31st min What a Brilliant goal.
Murphy slid in brilliantly to win it midway inside his own half, before setting off on a driving run down the left. He slipped it into Kieffer Moore, who beat the offside trap brilliantly, before dropping his shoulder to send the defender the wrong way and slotting home.

Superb. 1-0 :thumbright: :bluebird:

Then in the 38th min GOAL! Cardiff City 2-0 Coventry City (Moore 39)

Vaulks launched a long throw towards the near post. Keeper tried to punch but makes a meal of it. Murphy, off balance inside the area, helps it on to the unmarked Moore at the far post and stabs home a simple strikers goal :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

2-0. Thoroughly deserved :thumbright: :bluebird:

Kieffer Moores 13th goal of the season :bluebird: :bluebird:

H-T 2-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

With in mins, NG quickly took a free-kick to Josh Murphy who put the ball nicely in the Coventry net 3-0 :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: 3-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Coventry then hit the crossbar.

6Oth min: Double change for Coventry as McFadzean and Walker on for Ostigard and Hamer.

Coventry had a good 10min spell, good defending by Morrison and Nelson :bluebird:

75th min Leandro Bacuna replace Josh Murphy

For the last 20mins it had been all Coventry and you could see it coming

GOAL! Cardiff City 3-1 Coventry City (Hyam 81)

It was probably been coming to be fair...

City then had to stand strong and hold on for the 3pts, but over all deserved :bluebird: :bluebird:

MY MAN OF THE MATCH: KIEFFER MOORE :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

We deserved our win, another good attacking performance.

Three wins in a row and now up to seventh, just six points off the play-offs. I don't think many thought that was likely to happen a few weeks ago :thumbright:

Everyone played very well, but Kieffer Moore just shaded it for MOTM on my opinion.

Another big result. Mick and Terry Connor are doing a great job :ayatollah:

I think we have played better this season and lost but thanks to MM we seem to have turned a corner and winning when you haven't played that well is a massive plus.

Excellent first half and so delighted to see Murphy show us what he can do. McCarthy has quickly completed his first job which is to get the team competing and securing their Championship status for next season. I think we can be confident of that now. However, whilst suddenly being seventh is exciting I am really not get carried away with that. We looked very leggy at the end and against a better team that could have finished a draw today. We still sit far too deep and concede too much possession to be a genuine play off contender. That has to be rectified next season as you can't scrap out wins with last ditch defending every week. I will enjoy tonight though, refreshing to be looking up and not down.

A deserved and well-worked win for the Bluebirds today and I think Mick McCarthy has reshaped the side and its formation into one that understands what it has to do and, more importantly, how to do it...

The mis-match of players in wrong positions under Neil Harris is now clear to see and Mick McCarthy is showing (a) he knows how to blend a team, and (b) how to get them believing

Up to 7th but still a lot to do, if we are to claim one of the play-off places

But keep the faith; a long way to go yet and right now we are way better than most believed we would be just three weeks ago!

5 games, 11 points from 15 and climbed 10 places (17th to 7th)

I'll take that right now... :ayatollah: :D

Me too, well said!
Lets just take it one game at a time,as we are not there yet,we could be,but lots of work to do to achieve it.
Keep the faith. CCFC.

In the space of 22 days @CardiffCityFC have soared from 15-16th up to 7th & eyeing play-offs. These talented players are finally getting the chance to prove how good they are with a more positive game plan. Kieffer looks a Premier League quality striker - team will get better too :bluebird: :bluebird:

Josh Murphy winning a slide tackle in his own half and send an inch-perfect ball through to Kieffer Moore for the opening goal!

Yet old Cardiff fans will tell you Murphy doesn’t track back and can’t produce

This sums it up perfectly.

Totally agre Chris (which probably makes a refreshing change! :D ) Rome wasn't built in a day but whatever MM is doing seems to sit well with the players and they are responding by showing it on the pitch, where it matters.

Well done Mick and well done to the players.......keep it coming. :bluebird:
