' NO JONNY WILLIAMS AGAIN '

Fri Feb 12, 2021 1:40 pm

MICK McCARTHY:

Since the day Williams signed, now missed three in a row games?

Jonny Williams available?

NO. We are going to make sure he’s OK and make sure he is available for the rest of the games.

We don’t want to rush anyone back. We have got games coming thick and fast. If they have to miss one and then they’re fit for the next five, six, seven, eight. That’s better to me than rushing someone back and getting 40 minutes out of the next five or six. That’s daft.

I think that makes sense what Mick is saying there.

We have rushed players back from injury before, and they've ended up being injured for a lot longer.

As has been said before, he's costing us hardly anything as well so the transfer was always risk-free.

It's not like with Lee Tomlin, who is costing us a lot of money for him to be injured all the time.

Its not as if we are desperate for him to play? Another week as MM says better have him for 6 games than 1 game and then breakdown.

Would he be anymore than a subsistute anyway. Not even sure if he would even get on as a subsistute either plenty of attacking choices on the bench Hoilett Murphy Watters etc. And if we are ahead Pack is the obvious alternative. Don't mind Williams but if everyone is fit I don't see him playing much, even less when Tomlin is fit.

Maybe there should be a poll for how many games he'll play for us for the rest of this season.

I'll kick things off with 0.25 games.

Followed by a new three year contract.

Joniesta? More like Joniwaster at the moment.

I'd put money on him playing more games than Tomlin.

If he had cost half a mill or so then maybe, but he is costing 1/10th of that,so not really that strange imo.peanutz really, considering some of the money wasted in previous years?
