“ Lee Tomlins Comeback “

Thu Feb 11, 2021 7:36 pm

Lee Tomlin was meant to have his first run out this week v Colchester U23’s , but he was not ready after light training, also it was hoped he would of been ready to play four weeks ago.

Tomlin has not played for Cardiff for nearly 5 months.

Big Mick now hopes to play Tomlin v Millwall U23’s on Tuesday 16th February & Bristol City U23’s 23rd February :bluebird:

Then hopefully Tomlin will be ok to join the City match day squad for the Derby game on the 2nd March :bluebird: :bluebird:

We await the latest ,I bet if he was a defender he'd have picked up more criticism due to his lengthy injury absenteeism , and his value for money v appearances

Mate, Tomlins £100,000 a month, that’s half a million wasted there and all the other years he’s been here and transfer fee over three million.
Needs to go this summer, we can’t afford him and get nothing back .

I won't hold my breath.

The sooner he leaves the club, the better.

Far too expensive to have a luxury like him in the squad, especially given how little he plays.

He'll get injured in the under 23 game....What's the odds on that?

Sounds good. Particularly if he’ll just walk away from a whole years pay / contract. Simple. I mean, wouldn’t you do that?

Just sell him. Sorry to say it but he is injury prone and when he is playing he only shows a few flashes of brilliance. And thats in a few games per season.

There he is ,lol lol, lol. Doing what he does best. The king of shills!!!!

Embarrassed for me?? you should be ashamed with all your shilling.

You often place my name in threads to score points for a few laughs at my expenses. So have this for free and shill away............

Come on lads let’s not argue. Yes he’s been paid a great wage etc. However in the future players like him will be not be hired by any club.

Mr Tomlin has done well out of us through no fault of his own. You will see him serving you Big Macs in the future. So what goes around comes around and we don’t need to fall out about it.

The reason for this lengthy period was so he could have the operation needed to sort him out once and for all, so let's hope he can now repay the faith

Do you know something, fella; I actually wrote a long ridiculing response to this, posted and then deleted because it is clear you just don't 'get' what's been going on and I don't think you ever will, so it's a pointless waste of my time...

Take that as you like but you clearly like to dish your 'jealous of others' money obsession out yet cannot take it back for what it is, i.e. nothing too serious (not to me anyway)

If you have anything else to say, take it to 'pm' and I'll gladly engage to save hurting your feelings publicly :thumbright:

Agree on this; Tomlin has had a long lay off due to this required operation. I feel sure that he didn't injure himself (or maybe return too early) on purpose and it's just 'one of this things' that occurs in a contact sport

Maybe he will come back and set us alight again and it's not helped by (a) our recent history of injured players, and (b) his alleged wages, which are currently amongst the highest at the club

People should have a little sympathy for the guy rather than vilifying; he hurt himself playing for the Bluebirds

Will he be here next season? I believe he is contracted, so maybe we will see the best of him again :ayatollah:

Mate, the truth is , the clubs wasted millions on Tomlin, he has hardly played for us in three years, just throwing money at him.

If you look at the last year or so though mate, I'm sure you'll agree that even when he was carrying an injury he was the main threat in our team. He's had his operation so hopefully will come back good
I agree that particularly his early years here were not good (overweight, unfit, demons) but let's look at now.

You do understand 'injuries' are an occupational hazard for footballers and other sports persons?

Vassell is the bigger problems, if you want to play the money game only... ;)

Mate, Tomlin with injuries, attitude, trouble, has cost us multi millions, yes he can be great but how many games has he shone for us in three years? for the money

51 appearances sin Tomlin signed in the 2017-18 season, that answers it all

Chris theres been many occasions where club as played multi million £££££s and player played less than 1game for a club and that as cost club far more than 500k..... football is like no other buisness if footballer like vassell is out club pay him off or keeps him and still pays wages! If You or me cannot work permanently you get shown door no pay off ..... unfortunately it is what it is with our club just like every other one.

Has never been fit since he joined us. That is a shame as he has the talent. With his fitness concern , injuries and his age I cannot see him contributing much in the future.
Hope I am entirely wrong but that's what I think. :bluescarf:

Re: “ Lee Tomlins Comeback “

Fri Feb 12, 2021 12:44 pm

Tomlins goals earned us 18points last season. He is the only reason we made the playoffs and was clearly Harris's get out of jail free card.

Although I feel it is highly unlikely, we still have an outside chance at the playoffs. Just having him available for 12 games for the last 20mins of games could be the difference between finishing top 6 or falling short.

Next season we will have no wilson, no ojo or no hoillet (potentially). creative players cost a lot of money and money is something we don't have a lot of these days. I think people should be hoping he fully recovers from his op and stays fit, rather than slating him because of his wages. He'll play his role this season and we are definitely going to need him next season.
