back to madrid...has a year left on a very nice contract.... footballing wise he is less likely to play there than he is at Spurs so another year hardly playing and another year older... i was in hope Spurs was the answer and it really was all Zidane...

I can.
He goes back to Madrid on his half million quid a week or whatever.
Trains a bit, sits on the bench a bit, plays golf ... happy days.
People blame Zidane but it’s all down to Bale.

I don't think it Bales fault that father time caught up with him, nor Zidane. I think he would love to have the Bale of 5 years ago, but that option is not available.
What makes one player better than another ? That little bit of extra skill (coordination) athletism, balance or strength. It depletes as you get older and accelerates through injury. Bale is finished as a top-level player.
A lower-level team may build a team around him to hide his loses, he is not that frightening athlete of 5 years ago, he is a big strong lad with good control, he can do a jogb, but he is no longer elite
This episode may help football regain some sense of reality. Madrid are left holding a dud, a paper asset of 100 million Euro's is, in fact, worthless with an outgoing of 20 million in salary, so they can't give him away for £1.
They are looking for a sucker Chinese or Arab club to bail them out, but i reckon that ship has also sailed.

What does he do once his contract at Madrid is up? Play on for a lot less money at a lesser club or retire and enjoy his millions doing whatever suits him ?

Most would retire, he may just give it a go at a lower standard, I think he really does love the adoration of the Welsh fans.
There is a very small chance that he would give us a year or two.

Now 2 managers who have basically complained about bale... to me he looks more and more like he cba anymore.
I do think psychology he’s not there anymore I think he knows he isn’t the player he once was at at 31 he should still be at a very high level in his career, with the press constantly watching and criticising his performance how bad he is it would get you down.
Mourinho said the other day he has to train at 100% to get in his team to me means he isn’t giving 100%.
Sadly we won’t ever see the old bale I think he’ll go to mls or China in The summer.

I could see him ending up back at Southampton to end his career

I can see that happening much more than I can see him coming here.
Side note, his Wiki page says he is Chris Pikes nephew?! Never knew that

Why he doesn't just come to Cardiff for a season or two to end out his career god only knows.
That's actually the level he's at right now anyway.
In fact may not even be that.

god might try asking his accountant....
he does seem as if he is holding back , afraid to push his body incase of further injury... not uncommon Michael Owen admits thats what he did while at Newcastle..

Yes he is. He did a feature on Sky of football shirts he had growing up and one was the City shirt worn in Pikey’s era, might even have been his shirt. He explained in the feature that Pikey was his uncle. It’s probably on YouTube somewhere?
