Lee Tomlin

Reigning Player of the Season Lee Tomlin is thought to be right on track with his recovery from groin surgery.

The Bluebirds have been without their creator-in-chief for much of the season and they are desperate to welcome him back into the fold sooner rather than later.

However, there is now light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to Tomlin.

The club are lining up two under-23s fixtures - one against Colchester on Tuesday and another against Millwall next Tuesday - before reintegrating back into first-team training with a view to being available for Preston on February 20. :bluebird: :bluebird:

McCarthy is eagerly awaiting Tomlin's return, though, and barring any injury hiccups we could see him in a senior City shirt as early as next weekend.

"I know that when he was here last time he got 10 goals and 10 assists," McCarthy said.

"If he can get himself into that shape and that fitness and that quality - he has that bit of magic dust that can win you a game. Finding that pass. That angle. He’s always had that.

"Of course, aligned with that, he’s always had to work hard with his fitness and he’s going to have to do that now."

He should have played far more under NW but didn’t get picked? Can’t wrap him in cotton wool not in the Championship.

Apologies for my negativity and Tomlin has been a fantastic servant to the club and deserves unreserved support.

Also, the club has not shafted it's fans over the tv season pass and continues to give value for money in ticket pricing . This club and others are going through hard times and the millionaires need all the help they can get.

Total bollocks, call the greedy bast..... out up and down the land. Football does not put its fans fitst. Stop sticking up for them ffs. The gap between us and them is too great. Reset please!!!

Re: “ LEE TOMLIN UPDATE “

For what we're paying him, he's not worth the money.

He's had a few very good performances and contributed to some important goals, but is injured far too much.

He's costing our club too much money to justify keeping him. But the other problem has been finding another club who will pay his wages.

Put it this way, Lee Tomlin and Jonny Williams are both players who have bad injury records. But I would much rather have Jonny Williams signed to the club than Lee Tomlin.

Because he costs far less money and has a much more positive impact on the squad than Tomlin does. Tomlin has a proven record of getting into arguments with his team mates and, at times, being difficult to be around for players and management.

What are his wages then? I'm pretty sure his last contract was on reduced terms.

Tomlin was the only reason we made the playoffs last season. He got more goals and assists in that time than Williams has in his career. Given the choice between two injury prone players, I'd would rather one that wins you matches when he is available.

He's still on a lot of money.

I disagree with you, I'd rather have the player on far less money. Otherwise it's a large amount of money wasted.

What about the club and players supporting us the fans in these trying times. Im sure they could take the hit.

So a person who payed for a season ticket will now only get a credit minus the 10 pound per tv stream game charge. How nice of them lol, lol.

Take it up with the EFL, not the club, if you have a problem with it.

It's their initiative, not the club's. Every club in the EFL have the same system for it.

I don't see the issue myself. Fans can't expect to watch the games for nothing.

It's quite ironic really; or is it me that just thinks Blue 'football does not put its fans first' Lagoon doesn't put his own (claimed) club first either?

I'm genuinely confused as to why he turns up (assuming he still does when permitted); particularly if he begrudges them his money so much

Surely there is a contradiction in there somewhere...? :?

Re: “ LEE TOMLIN UPDATE “

When he comes off the bench he is amazing but because of his fitness we need to do the same with him , start him and we are risking him being injured long term again.

I can see other views a waste of money as for the money we paid and the skill he has he has been a big disappointment for us if he played to his potential and didnt have so much baggage when we signed him you can only imagine how good we could have been and Warnock would have kept us up but sadly he has been a massive let down to us and to himself.

Lets hope he can get back and do what he did last year

I see your points mate.
Tbh if he didn’t have the ‘baggage’ and his fitness was always 100% I honestly think he’d be in the EPL; certainly at a high performing championship team.
I’m happy that he’ll soon be back as we’ve missed him big time; Evan as a squad option

I see this as very positive news. By far the most gifted player at the club, excited to see him team up with Moore and Wilson. And cement our top 6 place which I even more sure of with Tomlins return. Things starting to come together for our club now and moving in right direction yet there’s still in fighting and negativity. Come be positive and support city.

Williams injury record is significantly worse than Tomlins. I know Tomlin is a few years older but he's featured in more than double competitive games than Williams. No idea why you want to replace last seasons top goal scorer, player with most assists and player of the year with someone who will likely have less of an impact as well as probably being out for more games.

Sir Sven is in the house, lol, lol.

Just keep sticking up for the millionaires and I'll keep calling the robbing bas.... out.

Fans must always come first and the facts are clear that many clubs dont. A big proportion of football clubs see fans as cash cows and nothing more. Basically they and others put money first before its fans and we are last on the list in a boardroom chat.

It turns my stomach that people can stick up for the greedy bas..... . Few shillers on this forum getting paid i think.

100 pound anywhere in the ground is coming.
