‘ Mick's Tactics ‘

What a breath of fresh air having a manager who can change things around and adapt.

Mick's first game, we went behind at Barnsley, he made tactical changes and we came away with a point.

Today, Mick identified Mariappa as a weakness playing out of position at left back and we fully capitalised. Mick then locked the game up by taking off Wilson and Ojo and putting on Pack and Bacuna, changing from a 5-2-2-1 system to a 5-4-1.

I thought today was our best performance of the season and my most enjoyable game of the season. For the first time in a long time, our players looked like they knew what they were doing. Our front 3 were fluid, playing combinations, creating chances, but we were also very well organised and never looked like conceding. I can't remember the last time I felt so comfortable watching us. We had too much quality, but Mick also made us too well organised.

Of course, full credit must also go to the players today. It was a great team performance and it seems Mick has given the players the guidance and direction they were previously lacking. We can't get carried away after just one performance, but it's the most encouraged I've felt after watching us play for a long time. Hopefully we can build on this and start climbing up the league.

I won't get carried away just yet with his appointment but yes refreshing to see a manager change things based on the game and the opposition not whether 60 minutes is up. It angers me just how bad Harris was. This season could have been salvaged if he'd been sacked earlier. I am scratching my head how we made the play offs with him last season really. First target for McCarthy is still to make us safe and then we'll go from there.

All about confidence in the manager, players now trust MM , i dont believe they had any trust in NH.

Experienced manager, I really think it will work out for big mick if he's backed

I think Big Mick is head and shoulders above Neil Harris and should at least get the backing of all our fans till the end of the season :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

it feels like the warnock appointment, let's hope he does well till the end of season then if he does stay he's backed in the summer

I totally agree with everything that the OP said. It's nice to have a positive spin on a thoroughly good performance where we made the carrot crunchers look like they were a league below us.

One swallow doesn't make a summer, but 3 games in and undefeated is definitely a good start. :bluebird:
