Mick McCarthy on Will Vaulks:

“He’s different class. He’s such a great lad and puts a shift in. That’s a pre-requisite and he epitomises that. He’s a good player as well. I’ve been delighted with him.’”

Played really well today.

My man of the match.

Shame that Neil Warnock never gave him a chance, even though he signed him.

I agree he was excellent. Love the way he gets in the oppositions faces. A real wind up merchant. :bluescarf:

On the face of it what was being said about several players being useless was down to position played and way we played? Faulks and bacuna have improved and Wilson's last 2 games have been markedly better plus look stronger with both flint and Morrison in side where previously that looked our weakness, early days but signs ste there.

Genuinely thought that was amongst his best games in a Cardiff shirt today, it was like he had a never say die attitude.

Will Vaulks is I am sure a tidy bloke but a totally bang average footballer. Putting “a shift in” is a given for a professional footballer. Having a long throw is a bonus for a player who finds it difficult more often than not passing to a teammate.
League 1 is his standard and if MM is going to be n charge next season he’s got to get in players in central midfield with more than just putting in a shift but game changers.

Thank god MM is manager then, and not you eh?

There were some good performances out there today, but Vaulks just edged MOTM for me. Let's hope he keeps it up - he doesn't always play so well.

Have you seen two of his long range goals he has scored for us?

You'll always need one in a team, maybe two, but never three.....That was Harris's issue, far too defensive.

Mick had all four on yesterday, but that was game management. 5 defender, 4 CM's and Moore.....
