A massively improved 'team' performance for the Bluebirds today and who can argue against Mick McCarthy having done a great job in pulling around the personnel and mood amongst his squad?
Some great performances today against a Bristol team lacking in any real character and game plan. Several up for Man of the Match but my own choice is between Keiffer Moore and Harry Wilson, the latter of who frustrated the Bristol City players with his smart and energetic display that got him a bit of an unpunished kicking at times. Mick McCarthy was right to withdraw him the end, as Bristol tempers began to fray and the challenges got harder by the kick
Indeed, a poor and frustrated Bristol side kept 'niggling' at the Bluebirds throughout the game and some of the challenges have been nothing short of disgraceful and in other games would be worthy of a red card
A good start from the Bluebirds saw them keep Bristol at bay, a rarity, and eventually go 1-0 up from a well worked goal resulting in Curtis Nelson scoring the deserved opener, as the bluebirds dominated the game in some style before getting a second from a typical Keiffer Moore header when left unattended on the left of the Bristol goal from a smart Ojo cross from the right
HALF-TIME: Bristol City 0 - 2 The second half was a little duller an affair, although Bristol did 'up' their game a little. However, Cardiff were still the dominant team and could/should have added more to their tally with Keiffer Moore proving what a complete Centre Forward he is
More 'niggling' tackles and offences from the Bristol side saw a couple of changes and the Bluebirds cruised to a comfortable win at Ashton Gate
Relief for the Bluebirds, relief for the new manager and relief for us supporters, who can finally smile again!
Bloooobirdssss!
