6 points off the relegation places

Tue Feb 02, 2021 9:23 pm

However, let's not get to negative just yet...I still think our team is capable of beating any other team in this league on their day and we have some very good championship players.
Moore could get injured ofcourse ,which would be a nightmare but we could also try changing our style and play Murphy Wilson, a youngster or Watters up front and play on the floor to them..maybe wishful thinking on my part but definitely worth trying.
Also today our under 23 team was excellent, best they have played all season and that has to be a positive too...not all bad lads but I would feel a lot more comfortable with a couple of wins on the board ...ideally starting at the Wurzels Saturday

There are a number of sides below us at the moment so for it to become worrying imo we’d need to lose another 3 or 4 in a row and even then we’d not be that near as the chances are that at least half the teams below wouldn’t gain any more than 3-4 points.
I agree that we shouldn’t be complacent but two wins and two draws and imo we’d be safe.

QPR and Coventry are 1 point behind us
Forest 2 points
Brum and Derby 3 points
and SW who are in the bottom 3 , 6 points

We have a brilliant goal difference compared to many so that's another point but z couple of wins in the next few games will be ideal

I know. If we lost 3-4 in a row I reckon we’d drop two places, possibly 3 and them we’d be in a battle to avoid the bottom 3.
If we pick up a couple of wins we’ll pull away. No worries here

QPR are below us and looked very good against Watford. Sheff Wed beat Bournemouth away today. Derby are improving. Do our players have the guts for a relegation fight? Im not sure to be honest . We have been horrific at times this season

Lets look at the next few games. We're on 31 points, just some guesses, yes they probably will be well out but just see what can happen in the next 4 games.

Rotherham United V Derby County - Draw Rotherham 24pts, Derby 29pts

Coventry City v Watford - Home win (Watford pants recently) Coventry 32 pts
Barnsley v Derby County - Draw Derby 30pts
AFC Bournemouth v Birmingham City - Draw Birmingham 29 pts
Bristol City v Cardiff City - Home Win
Millwall v Sheffield Wednesday - Away win Sheffield Wednesday 28pts
Queens Park Rangers v Blackburn Rovers - Home win QPR 33pts
Wycombe Wanderers v Nottingham Forest - Away win Forest 32pts

So just looking ahead to this weekend, if we don't win and the other results go against us, which is possible, we're already dropped to 19th and 3 points ahead of 22nd.

So yes, Saturday we must start winning.

Otherwise we may sleepwalk into league One!

more confidence than me mate... dont win Saturday afternoon and relegation will be a big topic on here Saturday night...
some of the clubs below us will lose but not confident all will... form seems to be more decent than youd expect with the bottom 8 or so... last 5 games
qpr 9 ponts
cov...7 points
forest 10 points
derby 9
brum 5
wednesday 12...
rotherham 7

apart from brum they are all in top half not bottom half form... some in promotion form...

In the last 20 years the lowest points total to avoid relegation has been 41, two wins and two draws will give us 39

In my opinion we need at least 5 wins and a few draws somewhere around 47-49 points before we can relax.
