There are some comments on here by some saying we will get relegated.
It just won't happen and I would bet my house on it.
The experience of the manager combined with the quality and experience in our squad means we won't go down.
Everyone who disagrees with me can feel free to return to this topic at the end of the season, but they won't want to because we won't go down.
I half think that some on here want us to go down just so they can say they were right.
It's just a massive deadline day overreaction.. As usual.
It's true we only have three senior strikers (unless we sign a free agent), but we have enough to stay up comfortably.

I agree apart from the striker part
We have one quality striker in Moore
One crock in Vassell who we will probably not see all season
One average kid in Harris who should be out on loan at a lower team getting experiance
And a league 2 gamble with Watters which is unlikely to work out
Our forward line is a worry,

What I meant is we have enough in our whole team to stay up and it won't happen.
Agree about the striker situation. I didn't even count Vassell to be honest.
At the same time, not sure Glatzel is a huge miss.

It has to click at some point we have a good squad of players and could easily go on a winning streak.

I don't think we'll go down average a point a game till the end of the season should see us safe. Added to that while our squad looks thin in areas, compared to Rotherham (who play 8 games in February) Coventry proberly Derby now its pretty strong.
That said we haven't won in 7, 3 of our next 4 are away all be it against teams you'd think we could pick up points from. If we were to lose Moore and Morrison for an extended period we could be in for a nervy finish.

Thanks Mystic Ned...

We have players that can score goals - Moore, Wilson, Ojo and Junior.
Maybe this signals a change in style or approach. Whilst on the face of it we are light on strikers, in losing Glatzel it’s not like we’ve lost goals from the team or someone who was critical to how we played.

...and Tomlin in a few weeks.

I think we have just about enough to stay up but better teams than ours have been relegated so hopefully the team don't think we're safe yet

its a concern 2 points from 7 games... and we were lucky to get one of those...

Maybe we should go down that would see MM gone together with a host of overpaid players who can only play hoof ball.
These next few weeks are crucial as others have highlighted injuries to Ng and Moore would have serious consequences. It would see Bacuna back at RB something MM said he couldn’t see working.
If either Tomlin and Vassel return anytime soon it will take them months to get match fit and it’s likely they will get further injuries.
We are in for a rocky ride me thinks and it’s far to arrogant to say we are to good to go down. Some people might just lose their house if things don’t improve.

Agree with you. This is the worst team set up since PT, and if people are pinning there hopes on Isaac Vassell suddenly showing up, then it just goes to show how far this club has descended over the last six or so months.
We literally are scraping the very bottom,, of a very rotten barrel!

Mm was brought in to steady the ship but has no long term ambition

I have asked this a few times and no one has offered an answer so I will ask again, what quality? What top championship quality players do we have to prevent relegation?
Smithies, Wilson, Moore but after that what have we got. Morrison is ok but the midfield in front of our back 4 doesn’t lend itself to preventing players strolling through and scoring. Several examples of hat this season. Width, no consistency, no one stand out and so many calls for Murphy to be the answer however, that hasn’t worked out. Moore gets injured and our limp it forward to the big man goes right up the pooper as we got rid of our other big man. Ralls, bacuna and vaulks are poor. Pack is worse and there is a reason Williams was playing in league 1. I hope it works out for him but realistically our squad is awful.
But that’s my opinion. What top quality players do we have that you believe will keep us up? I don’t think we’ll go down but we are in a fight and if injuries go against us. It’s a real worry.

We're 3 points above 21st, 6 above 22nd and they won away against Bournemouth tonight.
20 games left (60 points to play for).
If we're not going to be relegated we'd better start winning, soon.

Don't worry about a lack of strikers, didn't stop us when we went up as champions in 2012. Think was either Whitts or Helguson that season that was top scorer on about 8 or 9. Kieffer has already bettered whichever of them it was as I'm sure we didn't have anyone in double figures that year.
We won't trouble the playoffs but won't be in the relegation mix either is my guess. Pretty boring ride from here on in I reckon, but hopefully a chance for Mick to get his feet under the table pull things together and have a better crack at things next year.
We'll be fine.
