What a terrible mess

Mon Feb 01, 2021 10:29 pm

MM said we needed another right back? Where is he? Should Ng get injured we are back to square one. Should Moore get injured we have nobody to lead the line so why loan out Glatzel? It just doesn’t make sense. Still we sign another injury prone midfielder in the same position as Wilso who is a much better player. Incredible. And in the meantime the Jacks sign an experienced quality midfielder and young athletic ambitious footballers. What an absolute mess.

Hard to believe that we are planning with any direction, if it can happen it will happen. Moore as the only target man is gambling with our championship survival.
Or are we in financial meltdown?

Financial meltdown? Couldnt tell you, but I am worried.

Even given for these times, I look at clubs in the Championship who havent had our resources over the last few years, and see who they are signing, really disappoints me.

We have made one decent permanent signing, and one decent loan this year. But by dis-assembling the rest of the squad these additions have had little effect.

How throwing things out and not replacing is seen by the powers that be to be a recipe for success is staggering!

This transition and squad rebuild should have happened after relegation when we had prem money coming in. We stuck with hoofball with warnock where he spunked a lot of money on poor players and then we were stuck in limbo with Harris where I still don't know what his aim was.

Personally, Im a sick of the Flint, pack, lambert, madine type transfers where we've massively overpay on players on big wages and got/will get very little back on them. The current situation actually might force the club to operate better where we will have to rely on youth and finding decent players from lower leagues. The board do not particularly fill me with confidence but finding cheap players like NG, who looks comfortable at this level, will have to be the norm going forward. Without promotion this situation was always coming. Its just a Shame that with two promotions we are probably in the worse position we have been in since Tan came in.
