CONFIRMED " STRIKER LEAVES CARDIFF CITY "

Forward Robert Glatzel has today joined Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05 on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.

Glatzel has scored eleven goals in all competitions for the Bluebirds since joining from 1. FC Heidenheim in August 2019.

We'd like to wish Robert all the very best of luck while away from CCS.

Wasn’t actually a bad player, just struggled to adapt to the Brexit ball brand of football we play, particularly this season. Wouldn’t surprise me if he does well in the German top flight!

He's the most skilful striker we have at our club, but our style is to a target man.

Judge him on how he's played with the ball at his feet rather than how many starts or headers he's had and you'll see why Mainz have taken a punt on him.

I agree - he's much maligned on here but in the right system he has something about him. Mainz play good football despite their lowly position and I think he will do well there.

yes we could all see after half an hour he wasnt going to be a big strong target man winning headers and holding the ball up... its the other stuff...when we are in the final third and the ball is on the floor...mr skills did zero...if he had he would still be here or his amazing unappreciated skills would have been spotted by other clubs where they play perfect RGball who would have snapped up a bargain...a footballer that football does not suit
and yes a club in the relegation zone are taking a punt with no obligation which is less of a punt than we are taking on Williams...
