Glatzel to Boro

Glatzel to make deadline day loan move to Middlesbrough and line up with Warnock again.

Who's paying his wages?

'thomasblue' has volunteered to pay his wages and drive him up there, apparently.... ;)

Last reported as a Middlesbrough target in 2019 and currently showing up as 'possible interest' but who knows with the deadline so close and our manager looking to reinforce?

Surely just newspaper with no idea about us putting two and two together and making 5.

Not sure what Neil saw in Glatzel but........

Glatzel needs to be playing for a side thats playing actual ball on the floor football, something we dont seem to be able to achieve.
But someone saw something in madine, who scored how many in how long?? I hope glatzel stays personally.

I think Glatzel can play with the ball at his feet.

Haha. Brilliant.

I think he's nowhere near as bad as people make out. Been very much maligned on here and hasn't really had a good run, people knocking him & calling him a donkey and useless again for Saturday's performance when he came on with 7 minutes left being one example. Was he worth what we paid? No, but he's not a donkey by any means.

Re: Glatzel to Boro

Sun Jan 31, 2021 7:49 pm

He is in totally the wrong team and like it or not we are a long direct team and he is as physically effective as Josh.

Out of all the teams in the league, a Warnock team ?????

How can knock anyone based on 7 mins appearances god only knows... but he did more in 7 mins than several players playing 90mins did on Saturday...

Shhhhhhhsh!! Some fans will knock a player at EVERY opportunity, as they dont rate them!! Funny how a lot were waiting patiently, to invade the pitch, when madine actually scored(when was that?) Yet cost the same, and glatzel has at least scored a fair few more.he has been a sub since Moore's arrival, then when given a chance through injury, was asked again to be something he isnt, a target man/lone striker, hardly his fault we dont play to his strengths is it? And he does possess qualities imho.

Hes shite
Does nothing regardless of how long he's on for, even the commentator against Millwall was ripping into him aswell as his teammates

Re: Glatzel to Boro

If we bring in Jordan Rhodes or any other striker, let Glatzel go. We would then have a few options in that position - new striker, Moore, Mark Harris and Watters. As well as any that may come through from the development squad.

Glatzel will never succeed in this team because he doesn't suit the way we play and never has.

People keep on saying we should keep faith in him but he's had a lot of chances to prove he can do well for us and hasn't taken them.

He will face exactly the same problem if he goes to Middlesbrough while they're playing Warnock's style of football.

So it feels like a strange target for them if this is true.

Shite? Yeah in the 7 minutes he was on for!! Anyway as I said, not really bothered by what you think of him,all opinions welcome. So his goals to date have all been flukes one way or another according to who, you?

Who said they were flukes?
He has played 60 games scored 10 goals some of them like the Leeds goal were great others were more down to luck than skill. A one goal in six striker is not good enough in this league and this season he is averaging one in eight.

He does absolutely nothing whilst he is on the pitch other than impede our attacking threat and our style of play

Warnock played Patterson ahead of him , Harris picked Harris and Watters ahead of him and Mccarthy has done the same .

Its no coincidence 3 managers in a row have benched him for either kids with no experiance or utility players

If you think he's great thats up to you as you say all opinions welcome but I would say you are in the minority in that opinion.

Re: Glatzel to Boro

Always hoped Glatzel would come good but he never did. He rarely looks like scoring let alone going on scoring spree  over a number of games!
Good strikers can have a lean patch where they miss chances. But RG seldim gets into scoring positions. He is at best very average. Zagore always got a bad press on here but he was a lot better than RG. If he goes, I wish him all the best at the next club  :bluebird:

If he’s shite why do you think (if you can) do Boro want him.

I expect Boro to come in for a couple of our players seeing they are near top 6.

Morrison, Ralls, Hoilett or Bennett before him.

Not his fault we don’t play his type of football. Maybe we should start to do that and at least be more pleasing to the eye and how football should be played hmmm

I would say Boro probably want a big man to suit Warnocks style and Glatzel will be easy to pick up from us.

All this we dont play his style is bollocks. We've tried plenty of time to give him options.

Hes had partners in a 442 multiple times , he's been the head of a front 3 and he's been a lone striker .

Hes just not good enough full stop.
He can't head the ball
He can't shot straight
He doesn't control it well
He can gets bullied by defenders
He hasn't got a striker instinct
His scoring record is poor at best
He tries hard but thats about it

Let me know if I missed anything

A decent player who’s in the wrong team with the wrong managers because our ‘style’ has virtually not change at all.
Huge mistake by Warnock to bring him here especially for that amount.
Good luck to him.

really really strange...all these teams have scouts and people analysing games and none have picked up on all these attributes Glatzel has that would enhance their teams... could have had a bargain...
