Germany now saying the vaccine no good for over 65s ,and now threating legal action, and other stuff ,funny how it's only now not any good since they can't get enough ,and EU now saying they will bring in new export rules , disgraceful the way they are acting ,no wonder after sitting as a MEP for years Nigel farage could see what they were really like

Always been same treated uk with contempt at every opportunity whilst ignoring other EU countries transgressions it punishes us with fines ect... as for vaccine we are 3 months in advance of them because we didnt have to consult 26 other countries to plan anything? Now they are squabbling amongst themselves because some are looking after their self interests.

In less than 28 days and the mask has slipped already.
Having to double check everything you do with 27 other countries is never going to be quick. They got found out and were 3 months behind the curve.

Hence they are now doing an inspection checks on AZ and Pfz and issuing threats. Not a good look for them them.

If brexit means we can make independent decisions like this - then thats a good thing. I see now they want to an EU diplomat in the UK with full diplomatic status - yet the EU isnt a nation state (yet)

Sturgeon agrees with the EU. Is she for real? She would rather see Scots who are vulnerable not have the vaccine asap, so people in the EU could have the jab before them.

Sturgeon blames Westminster for anything and everything and would do anything to get an independent Scotland into the failing block.
This country has people who take the side of (often violent ) French fishermen against our own, who take the scum of the EUs side against our own people on this EU vaccine fekk up. Simply put they are treacherous idiots.

Completely transparent deflection policy by the EU. The European fiasco on vaccine rollout has nothing at this point to do with Astra Zenica and certainly nothing to do with the UK. If AZ were at full pelt, vaccination stations across Europe would still be shut and out of vaccine. It is about vaccine nationalism, the bit that occurred last summer when France insisted on the prime roll of Sanofi being the prime European supplier. Thank god the Germans played the same game and insisted on a large roll for BionTech or Europe really would be fucked.

It doesn't get any better though, yesterday Sanofi agreed to make the Pfizer Biontech, more than 2 months after they knew they're own vaccine didn't work. Oh and they were even later than the UK in ordering the Sanofi vaccine. Wonder how much money they've put into Sanofi with nothing to show for it. They're throwing shit out to deflect their glaring short comings. National governments may fall but the make up of those running Brussels will remain pretty the same. Lets see how accountable the Brussels machine is. How do those responsible for this fiasco get thrown out of office ?

Spot on except I would change France to Macron who sold the EU on the myth of French Scientific Excellence which has turned out to be just that - A MYTH. At the moment Macron is a quiet as a church mouse because he doesn't want any of the shit landing on him and I believe he doesn't want to run the risk of the UK stopping all EU fishing fleets access to UK waters, and sadly that is our biggest weapon to hit them with.

BJ gets called an idiot or boffoon but he really has shown this EU Commission to be the pernicious rabble they are - VIVA LA BREXIT.

Is t it surprising that the UK, EU worshippers have suddenly disappeared.
EU are parasites, they have clearly forgotten about the sacrifice made by this country and others to liberate them TWICE. Now they’re acting like spoilt children because “it’s not fair” and clearly “ haven’t got their shit sorted”. I’m all fir helping others but not at the detriment of our country. When everyone has been vaccinated twice in the UK then and only then should we help our so called friends, which they clearly are not. However when the 3rd Russian Shock Army are stomping through Europe I have no doubt they’ll want to be friends again. Just hypocrites and Parasites

Allen the redacted version is what astra zenicha agreed to publish the only redacted parts contain confidential invoices etc nothing in there regarding supply which has already been covered by astra head here!

The head of AstraZeneca has defended its rollout of the coronavirus vaccine in the EU, amid tension with member states over delays in supply.

Pascal Soriot told Italian newspaper La Repubblica that his team was working "24/7 to fix the very many issues of production of the vaccine".

He said production was "basically two months behind where we wanted to be".

He also said the EU's late decision to sign contracts had given limited time to sort out hiccups with supply.

Mr Soriot, chief executive of the UK-Swedish multinational, said a contract with the UK had been signed three months before the one with the EU, giving more time for glitches to be ironed out.

Thanks for putting me right! but they are still not entitled to have some of our production... its entirely their fault they are months behind us in distribution and production? They had problems before latest nonsense , they banked on more variety of vaccines being available but unfortunately there isn't until later in year so now they are short and some of the natives in EU are unhappy whilst uks happy as Larry.

The EU are a bunch of idiots, all they were promised re the vaccine off a/zenica was that a/zenica would make the best efforts to supply (Standard contract) as no company can guarantee any supply. The eu are quoting "binding orders" which as you have said they are not showing, if they think that the wording Best offer to supply is "binding orders" then they really are crackers.
One last thing though, The EU has not even approved the Astra zenica vaccine yet :laughing5: :laughing5: :laughing5:

They expect to announce approval later today but possibly not for under 65s like Germany! But also they are likely to bring in laws to govern exports of EU produced vaccines in other words they are looking after their own interests and sod rest of world? This episode shows the true colours of EU as self interest dictators and if you dont do as they say they will try bullying as way to get their own way, uk suffered this for as long as they've been in EU and because we wont bow to them now they're effectively going to ban vaccine exports because of their incompetence :? We have given upto 6 times more vaccine than some EU countries

It’ll stay in this country and they can moan as much as they like.

I don’t know why old Boris just doesn’t say to the Scottish people if they left the UK how would Sturgeon pay for everything, Whisky, Tourism what else.

The Govt would withdraw the money they send up to them every year! She’s a despot :banghead:

Unfortunately the Pfizer vaccine is made in Belgium so at the rate EU are messing up over vaccine can see that supply being held up for their own needs... think problem will occur if stop sending to other countries outside EU ?

Alan here is the Eu contract with an expert lawyer explaining it!

The EU's public position is legally unsustainable, and they have made public comments that are demonstrably wrong,' he said.

Pulling apart the EU contract, Mr Barrett a Lawyer pointed to section 5.1 as the most damning, saying that it 'clearly shows' the company is only under a 'Best Reasonable Effort' clause to supply the EU - as boss Pascal Soriot has stated.

While section 5.4 does state that factories in the UK are considered to be part of the EU under the terms of the contract, he called this 'a distraction' that 'is not relevant to the EU's point'.

'This is actually a mildly embarrassing climbdown from the EU, who have a rule that all vaccines used in the EU have to be made in the EU.

'What they have done in that clause is say, for the purposes of this contract, the UK counts as the EU.' But, he added, it does not mean they are entitled to doses made in UK factories.

In addition, clause 6.2 of the contract states that 'competing agreements' signed by AstraZeneca might affect the supply of vaccines to the EU.

'They knew there would be competing agreements,' Mr Barrett said. 'Everyone in the world knew there would be competing agreements. They knew that might mean doses were delayed.

'I believe the EU is publicly asserting that it now has a right to jump the queue and take doses that belong to other people. That is expressly wrong,' he added.

EU vaccine export row: Bloc backtracks on controls for NI -

In a statement released on Friday evening, the EU Commission said it was "not triggering the safeguard clause" of the Brexit deal, and the Northern Ireland Protocol would remain "unaffected".

The Commission added that in order to tackle "the current lack of transparency" over vaccine exports outside the EU, it would be introducing a measure requiring that all such exports "are subject to an authorisation" by member states.

The statement warned that the EU would "consider using all the instruments at its disposal" should vaccine supplies "toward third countries be abused to circumvent the effects of the authorisation system".

The EU's original move was criticised by a string of politicians, with Northern Ireland's First Minister Arlene Forster describing it as "an incredible act of hostility" that places a "hard border" between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
