About Millwall

Millwall Football Club is a professional football club in Bermondsey, South East London, England. They compete in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football. Founded as Millwall Rovers in 1885, the club has retained its name despite having last played in the Millwall area of the Isle of Dogs in 1910. From then until 1993, the club played at what is now called The Old Den in New Cross, before moving to its current home stadium nearby, called The Den. The traditional club crest is a lion rampant, referred to in the team's nickname 'The Lions'. Millwall's traditional kit consists of dark blue shirts, white shorts, and blue socks.

In Millwall's 93 seasons in the Football League from 1920–21 to 2019–20, the club have been promoted eleven times (five times as champions in 1928, 1938, 1962, 1988, and 2001) and relegated nine times. They have spent the majority of their existence yo-yoing between the second and third tiers of English football. The club did have a brief spell in the top flight between 1988 and 1990, in which they achieved their highest ever league finish of tenth place in the First Division in 1988–89. Millwall reached the 2004 FA Cup final and qualified for Europe for the first time in their history, playing in the UEFA Cup. The club have also won two League One play-off finals in 2010 and 2017, the Football League Group Cup in 1983, and were Football League Trophy finalists in 1999.

In the media, Millwall's supporters have often been associated with hooliganism, with numerous films having been made fictionalising their notoriety. The fans are renowned for their terrace chant "No one likes us, we don't care". Millwall have a long-standing rivalry with West Ham United. The local derby between the two sides has been contested almost a hundred times since 1899. The club also share a rivalry with Leeds United, and contest the South London derby with local rivals Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic.

We drew 1-1 at Millwall in November.

After the comments he made about team selection and only those playing who impressed in training, he has my full backing.

Such a ballsy statement to make.

Let’s seem some youth coming through then Mick. Love to see Murphy, Hoillet, Wilson and Bagan start a game.

Get mixing that team up!

I’ve never been so uplifted after a draw in all my time being a footy fan. Micks comments about those not being as good as others made my night!

What! No two clear goals,a straight 2-0 win? Can I put my tenner on it? Cos I was going 3-1.

Hope the predicted line up is incorrect. Would rather see Morrison in for Flint Murphy for Hoilett and a place found for Wilson. I like McCarthy but picking his teams from who does well in training seems a bit bonkers to me. Thought we got a point at Barnsley despite the team he picked rather than because of it we got away with it at Barnsley and the spirit was good but it wasn't our best team.

Match facts

The last six league matches between Cardiff and Millwall have all ended as a draw – indeed, 13 of the last 18 league matches between the teams have been draws.

Millwall are looking for their first away league win against Cardiff since February 2005, winning 1-0 with a Danny Dichio penalty.

In all competitions, Cardiff boss Mick McCarthy has won five of his last six home matches against his former side Millwall (D1), since losing 1-0 in August 2003 with Sunderland.

Millwall have won just five of their last 36 away league matches in Wales (D18 L13) although they haven’t lost two league matches there in the same season since 1982/83, when they lost to Cardiff and Wrexham; the Lions lost 2-1 to Swansea earlier this season.

Millwall striker Matt Smith has been directly involved in five goals in six league starts against Cardiff City (4 goals, 1 assist).

Osei-Tutu latest

Not from me. He’s back at Arsenal having treatment as far as I’m concerned. The last I heard, it was going to be a considerable time. Maybe five or six weeks someone said to me.

The last 6 @CardiffCityFC vs Millwall games were draws.

The last 3 head-to-head at CCS between the teams have been a tedious watch, 0-0, 0-0 and 1-1.

Millwall's last match was a draw, Cardiff's last match was a draw.

Wonder how today could go?

CCFC:

Joe Bennett and Sean Morrison are both in contention for the Lions' visit after recovering from Achilles and back injuries respectively, but Junior Hoilett is out with a knock from Wednesday's clash with Barnsley.

Max Watters is also a doubt, while long-term absentees Jordi Osei-Tutu and Lee Tomlin remain out of contention.

MILLWALL:

Millwall are set to be without Murray Wallace, and may also be without Connor Mahoney and Billy Mitchell, who are both working their way towards a return to full fitness.

Maikel Kieftenbeld made his Lions debut against Watford and could be set to keep his place.

Former Bluebird Kenneth Zohore could also be involved.

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy: "Millwall is a club still very close to my heart. I am still very much in the vicinity of Millwall support.

"I have loads of pals that still support them. If I’m not playing against them I want them to do well, but if I am playing against them, I obviously want to win. They’re not getting beat on a regular basis, so they’re a tough nut to crack."

Millwall manager Gary Rowett: "We’ve played three teams that have come down [from the Premier League] and we’ve drawn away from home against Norwich and Bournemouth and then drawn at home to Watford. I don’t know many sides who don’t get beaten against those three teams.

"We also beat a Huddersfield team that haven’t lost too many home games, so I think it’s two really encouraging performances."

Plain stupidity why the fck did Morrison keep ball in play in that area? Flint didn't need to stick leg out two unessasry things cost us a goal.
...roll on next season get rid both of them... :banghead:
