Big Mick has called Ciaren Brown back a natural left sided centre back

Apparently Ciaren Brown will be available to play for City from 1st February

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy suggested he is content with his current group of defenders after news emerged that the Bluebirds will be recalling Ciaron Brown from Livingston.

Annis perhaps with Brown back we can forget about another defender and concentrate on a midfield player, or maybe mick does not rate one of our center halfs and we still need another one

Though he was clearly up for it, I thought Flint looked a bit shaky last night and Nelson often doesn’t instil confidence. I agree that the need for a good midfielder is top priority

Roger, I think that’s what’s going to happen , that’s it in this transfer market.

Not sure there is much point recalling him. He has been reasonably good for Livingston without being in anyway exceptional. Not clear that he is any better than Nelson or Flint and certainly isn't better than Morrison. Now all three are fit I don't really see that we have any need of him.

He has been excellent for livingstone and one of MM's scouts told MM to tet him back now!

Last week we had to play bennet at centrehalf. We finished the game last night playing with a back 5. If that is the way forward we will need 4 CB's. Brown can play CB and at LB and is probably on peanuts. No idea how good he is but hes having a good season at Livingston. He'll be handy to have in the squad.

Played at left back in a pre season friendly at home last season. Looked promising, certainly a big unit and wont be pushed off the ball.

I think this is about Nelson more than Flint.
Despite losing his man for the first last night, Flint is natural cover and competition for Morrison. Where Nelson doesnt have that.
We all know that we can't play Mozza and Flint together as a back two, so Nelson has no competition.
Brown will provide that competition for Nelsons place and may even eventually push him out. Brown is proving to be quite a player north of the border, if he gets his chance here, he may be difficult to dislodge. Either way it's of massive benefit to the team.

Cunningham was a true Cardiff signing - £4m paid and 14 matches played!

thanks for your contribution.

Haven’t seen that much of him at Livi but from what I have seen he’s been a solid no frills defender. Third time he’s been loaned to them?
