Lessons from today's game

1 Joe Began needs a leader along side him. Defensively he looked vulnerable, and Barnsley were constantly targeting him. Heard MM talk to him more than the players. He looked a hell of a lot more comfortable with Morrison there and in a more LWB role.

2 Though we knew this already, today showed all our midfield players play a to similar game to play together in a 4-3-3. We had no one making good forward runs, and no one who was bringing the ball down. All 3 playing hoof ball, and to slow releasing the pass. With wing backs we had much more variety in our game that suited are lack of different types of center midfielders better.

3 MM experience shone today. His decision making changed the game. Last season NH used his subs well, this season he hasn't. That's one of the big differnces.

Still a lot of improvement needed. But considering MM has only had two days I feel a bit more at ease already.

Would like to start 5-2-3 next game with wing backs providing the width, and wingers playing a bit more central to link up with KM.

Stuff we have known for ages.

All our midfield players are basically the same, we don't need to play three of them.

Juniors best days are behind him and we need to say goodbye in the summer

Keiffer Moore is a very good player and we'll do well to keep him

Aden Flint is back, he missed every ball, clattered into all our players but played a bit like Sol where he got away with it.

We somehow believe the ball is made from plutonium and never tried to take a touch, it was shocking stuff

Nelson was on top of his form last season, this season he looks like a mobile L1 centre half

NG looks a decent acquisition

Bagan joined then kick it as far and as quick as possible game plan

I don't see what Ojo brings or does, but he got on the scoresheet so many will think he deserves his place. I hope we don't sign him

The players care, well most of them. That was a fight rather than a game last night.
