“ BIG MICK / JOSH MURPHY “

Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:15 pm

Murphy is the most talented at our club ..can Big MICK get him consistent... Bacuna needs replacing with a good midfielder..if these 2 things only happen.. City are a top 6 side..but is it to late this season?

Murphy. Genius. Nick has to play him and Wilson.

Is Mccarthy able to unleash?

I think it'll take a lot to get to the top six this season.

But I think if we can finish in the top half then the manager would have earned a contract extension.

Decent start tonight. Must be remembered that Barnsley are having a good season.

If we win on Saturday then four points from the first two games will be a very good return.

Forget top 6 we are in relegation avoidance territory.

We only need 2 from 4 CM's that allows Wilson in as ACM. Moore, Josh and I suppose Ojo even though i don't think he is any good up top.

The season is over as we sacked Harris too late. Just so relieved we rescued a point tonight. I agree with Murphy and a new midfielder and with the addition of Tomlin returning I am just hoping to see the football improve and to quickly secure our status for next season.

We are absolutely nowhere near a top 6 side

To even suggest it is ridiculous

We were dreadful tonight..absolute garbage

Not Big MIck’s fault but our midfield has been dogshite for couple years since Gunnarsson left.. Bacuna is just not up to it..he is dreadful

I think if Mick really wants to try and get the best out of Josh he is going to have to trust him , start him and let him have a run of games. He has never really been given that :bluebird:

I remember saying to a chap in the Lib club before a match who was telling me Gunner was shit that when he goes he will really be missed.
I believe I was right.

Absolutely agree...but Mick is as risk averse as Harris

Tomlin will make a huge difference to both our team and Josh Murphy.

No, he is just starting and it was his first game. He clearly wanted/needed to get off to a decent start, i.e. put a point/points on the table and he did that (more in one Championship game than Harris did in his last 7) with a squad he had only seen in training

He clearly learned during the first half, brought on Morrison and pinched the draw

He encouraged and cajoled Josh Murphy and got a more than decent performance from the one (to me) both Warnock and Harris knocked the confidence out of

Good start and even a defeat wouldn't have been laid at Mick in my book; he's got a tough gig at the CCS

Hopefully MM will unleash the hounds and introduce some free flowing attacking football

What was really encouraging was hearing MM demanding that Murphy get forward. This was one of the issues under Harris and Warnock - Murphy was expected to do much defensively which is neither a strength of his or going to do anything to hurt the opposition.

We have enough midfielders in there to do that tracking work.

Having him play further up gave Barnsley something to think about as we then had pace on both sides.

Now if only we could get the midfield sorted we might get some decent balls sprayed out to him, on the deck and actually in front of him to run onto!

 I read a post just now, where the poster is bemoaning tonight's game, calling it a carbon copy of Harris’s first game in charge,2-0 down to draw 2-2, then goes on to say he hopes it's not an omen :laughing5: I replied I hope it is, as we made the play offs :laughing5: :old: :bluebird:

Funny things happen and MM is a better manager than NH :thumbright: :ayatollah:

NH was helped into the playoffs by a national lockdown and Tomlin getting fit in it's time.

Let's hope it's not an Omen if it means another lockdown!

NML also got fit in that time, 2 huge pluses for us at the time

We are too far off the playoffs, Harris's work so far has written the season off for us. Time to rebuild and practice for the remainder of the games and just see where we end up. Hopefully the rot stops and the rebuild can begin. Game time needed for some of the kids as well.

Well if a 3rd manager can't get anything out of Murphy it truly is time to admit he's a waste of space, no more excuses. He's had 3 fresh starts.

Hes 26 next month he should be coming into hos prime right now.

might be to far off the play offs but not too far away from the drop zone to start experimenting and playing kids..
