" Where will we finish this season and the future??? "
I dont want this turning into another club, board or manager bashing thread. I think everyone has expressed their opinions on them enough already recently.
Be interesting to see whose predictions are bang on and who is wide of the mark. And what 'football experts' were talking utter rubbish
I predict an instant turn around in results. We'll be energised, organised and generally more difficult to beat. I think we'll play to the squads strengths being more direct and getting forward quickly. This will benefit wilson, Moore and our wide men.
I think we'll finish 8-9th and mick will be rewarded with an extended contract. We'll build a squad that grinds out results rather than out classing opponents. Not sure how far that will take us but results will need to remain decent to keep the fans on board.

McCarthy will push us up the table a little but mid table mediocrity looms at best. Nothing to do with the manager but the club is badly run and on the decline. No youngsters coming through, no money and a board who know nothing about football and who look to me are increasingly not interested. Tan is only interested in protecting his investment ands I cant blame him. The other two are hangers on who are picking up salaries way beyond their usefulness to the club.

Unbeaten run into the playoffs. Then trounce whatever has the misfortune to come up against us.
C'mon City
Onwards and upwards!!
Charge!!!

I believe Big Mick will take us in to the Top 8 come May
Easy to say now,but I believe Neil Harris would of taken us bottom 5 and we were def heading that way.
The Future??????
I dont want to say how I feel

lets see what the next few games bring us.
If we have a good start and get a couple of wins below us then mid table it will be. if it goes the other way we will be in a relegation battle and that could prove too much pressure for us.

And so the 1st reply does what???? The op asked for it NOT to turn into a board bashing thread!
Can't we at least try?
Anyway,i think we will finish top ten this year,as for next few years?
I think this is a very important time coming up,and could really depend on how well MM does this season,as to what,if any funds he is given.but I believe we at a crossroads, depends which way we turn, spend to try and achieve promotion,or sit tight in the hope we can stabilise our position in the championship, for a sustained improvement,on and off the pitch.

I think we've got too much to catch up to make the play-offs now.
For me if we get anywhere in the top 10 that would be a major success based on where we are right now.
As for the future, I would like us to give Bellamy a long-term (3-5 years) contract in the summer and let him build with the only target for the first season to stay in the Championship and then ramp it up from there.
We just need to break this risky appointment/safe appointment/risky appointment/safe appointment cycle we've been on for a while now make the club self sustaining.
That will please the players, fans and board.

currently the clubs holding play off spots have been averaging 1.68 points per game or more...
personally i think if Mick can turn our current form into that , which is 37 points for a season total of 66 points he will have done excellent ..but would be happy with 60 plus points..
future ? dont see any big investment on players any time soon... mid table with an outside chance of play offs

Harris was definitely taking us that way annis. He was a complete disaster this season.
I did try to word my prediction as to not criticise the club
Mick will definitely improve things this season. But there is only so far and for so long grit and determination can take you. At some point we will be back to square one, I feel anyway. We really need more from our team if we are truly going to kick-on.

There has been a lot of negative posts about MM's appointment, I think he is the right appointment at this time. I think he will push us up to the top 10 at the very least, anything above that would be a bonus.
Much has been said about the lack of strategy as far as the club is concerned and a lack of clear footballing knowledge at board level, try this for size. At the end of the season we do achieve a top 8-10 finish, MM gets to take new position as Director of Football and we appoint a young 1st team coach along the lines of Bamba or Bellers or indeed Hudson, with a clear plan to develop all aspects of the club.
Yes my glass is always half full

I think Mick will take us to the top half, possibly the top ten.
If that happens, I can see Mick McCarthy staying on because he would have earned it.

,
Here is a mystic meg prediction, we will just fall short of the top 6 and we will finish 8th.

agree , a couple of points off the playoffs and back in the 6 next season if MM's 'previous' falls into place, likely it will ,with a couple of shrewd signings and a few of the existing squad becoming 'new playerss' after a couple have gone.Expect a young loan or two from the bigger Prem clubs,he always manages to find a couple.

The way we've been playing lately, the top half would be a good result, we need to start the rebuild for next season, and be ruthless and continue to look for a new Manager, I think Mick is a stop gap unless he excels.

6th to 8th MM to go on a winning run

Somewhere between 12th-14th.
Too far behind for the play offs and good enough to not become concerned about relegation.
