Tan really believed in Neil Harris.

100% Neil Harris was Vincent Tans appointment and he only decided to get rid after QPR game when he actually realised we really could be in a relegation battle.

Mick McCarthy, was Dalmans idea who introduced McCarthy to Tan, to steady our sicking club.

And I never usually agree with Dalman, but I think he has got it right for this season :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Midfield is a massive concern! Bacuna, Pack and Vaulks are just not up to standard.

Watching McCarthy’s interview on the club website just now filled me with hope.

Mick McCarthy took Sunderland into the Premier League - and as champions.

He took Wolves into the Premier League - and as champions again - before stabilising them in the top flight for two seasons.

He took Ipswich and Millwall to the play-offs on extremely tight budgets.

You can add Ralls to that list :banghead:

Mick McCarthy literally had to buy players for £20,000 and £80,000 at Ipswich, one of the lowest budgets in the country.

The year Wolves were relegated the board there only gave him roughly £12m to spend. Lots going on behind the scenes at that time. The manager as the public face takes the flak unfortunately.

When he took over Ipswich they were a selling club and he managed a sixth place finish and a sixteenth place finish. The season after he left they were relegated. Worth pointing out when he managed Millwall back in the nineties they finished 3rd in the old second division they have never finished higher since.

Not too sure about Terry Connor as his assistant he took over from McCarthy in the season Wolves were relegated from the premier for the last 13 games and had a 0% winning record they drew 4 and lost nine. Not sure if that is the worst winning record record in the premier but must be the joint worse one.

I think it's a good appointment until the end of the season, so credit to Dalman for that :ayatollah:

The important thing is Mick McCarthy is very experienced so will know what to expect in this division.

He has worked with virtually no money before as well and done well.

Derby won today beat QPR

and we are only 4pts off 4th from bottom and Rotherham 9pts below us in the bottom 3 with 2 games in hand and still to play us.

Neil Harris was sinking fast taking us with him 6 defeats in row

Agree, not counting Wilson as he’s on loan . Ralls is our best midfielder and thats the problem

The issue with vaulks, ralls, bacuna and pack (although pack is a slightly different player) is that you should never see more than 2 of them in the team at the same time - unless seeing out a game. Individually they are decent championship midfielders but they are all too similar. They are disruptive players there to hassle the opposition. They are not creative enough to open up the opposition or change games. Which is why we have struggled this season. Harris failed because he continued to play 3 of the 4 mentioned in midfield together. Ralls is not a no.10 but Harris played him there regularly and then complained about not creating anything.

Harris should have done exactly what he did last season with wilson doing what Tomlin did. Ojo or Murphy would have been a better option than playing ralls in that role.

Mick has lots of respect in the game and has had to earn most of it with shoestring budgets, if he can consolidate us this term and get himself a new deal for next season it will be interesting to see if Tan is then willing to back him with decent amount of transfer money, I think with his contacts and experience he may well produce us a few gems. Yes I'm very happy to see him here, don't think we'll see him blaming players for losing which was something unforgivable by Harris, no class !

The issue with Ralls, vaulks, bacuna and pack is that they are not good enough at all. Midfield has been ignored for too long, we’ve concentrated on strikers and defenders and the reality is midfield is the problem. How many goals this season where teams have skipped through unchallenged and scored. A poor midfield will pull defenders to where they don’t want to be and will give strikers an impossible job. For some reason Ralls escapes criticism, he is no better than the rest. We have never replaced the likes of gunnarrson and Whittingham and it is costing us.

I wonder if MM will stick with Morrison for every single set piece. That was worked out by everyone months ago.

It was around about this time last year when some said our season was over -

1st step to move up the table - Then let's see what happens .

Although I wasn't for MM and still don't think he is the long term answer with the players he has at his disposal there is no reason we can't go on a run. Just don't think we can afford to lose tomorrow if we can nick a win then hopefully its onwards and upwards
