Potential Managers Win Percentage

Thu Jan 21, 2021 11:40 pm

So love or hate the personalities, this is a results game. Obviously no Bellamy stats.

Below are the managerial win percentages (games in charge in brackets) for the front runners and some comparators:

Front runners:
Slaviša Jokanović = 53.79% (396)
Danny Cowley = 51.4% (658) Only 32% in Championship with Huddersfield
Nathan Jones = 44.4% (248)
Paul Cook = 43.1% (671)
Eddie Howe = 41.83% (545)
Michael Flynn = 41.4% (210)
Lee Bowyer = 41.4% (145)
Nigel Pearson = 40.85% (497)
Mick McCarthy = 38.8% (985)
Roy Keane = 38.7% (181)
Mark Hughes = 37.4% (610)
Tony Pulis = 36.06% (1137)
Mark Bowen = 34.15% (41)

A few comparators:
Jose Mourinho = 64% (975) - wow
Jurgen Klopp = 52.2% (880)
Marcelo Bielsa = 45.5% (685)
Neil Harris = 40.6% (310) @ City 38.7% (62)
Neil Warnock = 40.3% (1,516)
Russell Slade = 36.3 (865)

Before you start complaining, I know this is all at various levels with differing budgets.

For me, we should be looking across Europe at the Jokanovic standard, Iknow he's not in the running. Alternatively, it would be Jones, Cook or Pearson...

Surely Pep gives José a run for his money? 8 trophies in 4 seasons at Man City already.

yes it varies team to team.... ....success for Wycombe this year would mean about 30% success for the clubs relegated from the premier league would be almost double that....

and bringing in managers from Europe is not as easy any more since brexit... there is a points system for players and manager

Pep 72% but managed Barcelona, Bayern and Man City. I recon I'd be over 50% with them.

I am using trophies won around the world - Pep in the same boat .
Sir Alex said the same he thinks Jose will win more than him / Pep and others ( Only time will tell ) .

Pep - 29 trophies
José - 25 trophies

So it’s very close and gets a bit more convoluted when you argue which trophies do and don’t count (I went with their full honours list on Wiki. I know some people don’t think CWC or Community Shield, etc count as proper titles)

Both in their 50’s as well so definitely a lot more trophies to be won between them I’d imagine.

Agree depends on what you call trophies - There is a site called Transfer Markt which gives a load of footie data .
They Have = Sir Alex 48 : Jose 33 : Pep 29 ( on those figs both Jose & Pep have ground to make up ) .
