" Eddie Howe "

Thu Jan 21, 2021 5:00 pm

Let's get one thing sorted.

Eddie Howe is not going to be our next manager. There is almost zero chance of that happening.

He was on Sky Sports Monday Night Football with Jamie Carragher not long back and made it clear that if he was to get back into management then it would have to be a project that he really believed in - that's not us. Watch the video for yourselves below.

It is widely believed he wants the Celtic job, which is likely to be available very soon.

We won't be spending a lot of money on transfers and that would also contribute to him not taking the job.

It's an absolute non-starter and people need to be realistic.

Neither is Nigel Pearson, who would be my preference. It's just extremely unlikely.

The likes of Paul Cook, Mark Bowen etc are far more realistic. Someone who won't cost a lot of money.

i think some people think he was working on a shoe string.... imagine the fallout if Tan gave him 19 mill and he spent it on a striker that did not score in 39 games....

Pearson for me. He created the Leciecter side before they won the league with Ranieri.
He will also sort the shit out of Cardiff city's players.

Re: " Eddie Howe "

We are a project m8 bigger club than Bournemouth twice been promoted once as champions BIG fan base premier league stadium and a billionaire owner come on Eddie the challenge awaits

Re: " Eddie Howe "

Its well documented Eddie Howe doesn't want to move to far North for family reasons. He was lined up for the Fulham job until Scott Parker started to turn things around. So if true cant see him going to Celtic.

Re: " Eddie Howe "

Consider these facts

1.Like it or not we are a project
2.Look at his CV-made with a club not even half our size and has never had a significant budget to work with,in fact he got Bournemouth to the prem with less of a budget than Malky or Neil Warnock.

I'm sure if we could make a proper case he would come.

A man can dream.

I agree our squad needs a firm hand,
we’ve needed a strong midfielder for 2-3 years so maybe new manager will sort this out

Pearson for me

He already turned down a chance to join us, he said he wants to manage a premier league club.
I would love David Wagner who took Huddersfield to the top.

Mate, I know this to be fact.
We’ve already talked to him.

I’ve mentioned this many times but you still get posters on here saying - We should get Howe!

Would Love Eddie Howe i feel he would be the name to get the juices flowing get the fans back on board. Depending on what you believe investment wise if the owner is still looking to cut cost and who can blame him then i would agree Howe wouldn't be an option. However as stated by others we are a big club bigger than Bournemouth and i would say Burnley and he went there our facilities and potential size of club are up there with most top end Championship clubs. Is he likely to get a top ten job in the Premiership i am not sure are there opportunities at the lower end? he was by all accounts lined up for the Fulham job until Scott Parker started to turn things around. Remember he has previously stated he doesn't want to move to far North for family reasons
If and i would agree its probably a big if given the worldwide recession and the club showed ambition and sold the idea to Howe its a project he has overall say on the football side there is Ex amount to spend no pressure this season give him time to asses everything from top to bottom giving all the players a chance between now and the end of the season release and keep whoever he wants. Given the backing assurances there will be no interference from the top he supposedly wants a project then i would argue we would be an attraction for most Managers especially those out of work.

Correct, Ned. Howe was 'sounded out' but City quickly accepted he was not going to be their man

People can forget Tony Pulis and (sadly for me) Craig Bellamy

No final decision yet but there is at least one Welshman in the frame

Chris, Bowen is in the frame.
A big mistake if they go for him in my opinion.

Hopefully not, but it seems an announcement is imminent and I am told I will be 'happy' (whatever that meant :laughing6: )

Re: " Eddie Howe "

I think they would have to give Eddie Howe a kings ransom to come here and that's just not going to happen in my opinion.

His project was Bournemouth and he did a great job with them so I think he may well think he has earned the right to wait for an offer from a bigger PL club, Newcastle may become available any day.

I think we need a manager with an edge someone like Pearson, but he is no Yes man, so that will discount him but I fancy like NW he would be our type of manager. Certainly he would get our team organised and committed to the cause.

Mark Hughes has a edge about him but not sure he could manage on a small budget, Bowen is a very good coach but so was Trollope and look how that worked out.

It's going to be interesting but for me it won't be Eddie Howe.

I'd take Mark Hughes. Has done reasonably well wherever he has gone apart from that awful game against Russia. He even got Stoke playing some decent football, so maybe he could for us too... He would also attract decent players with his CV. Worth a gamble and surely a better option than McCarthy or Pulis :bluebird: :bluebird:
