BREAKING NEWS " NEIL HARRIS LEAVES CARDIFF CITY "

Thu Jan 21, 2021 3:38 pm

We can confirm that First Team Manager Neil Harris and Assistant Manager David Livermore have left Cardiff City Football Club with immediate effect.

The Board of Directors would like to thank Neil and David for their efforts during their time with the Bluebirds and wish them every success for the future.

A new permanent manager and assistant will be announced in due course via club channels.

Speaking on Thursday, Tan Sri Vincent Tan has stated: “I’d like to thank Neil and David sincerely for their hard work at Cardiff City.

“Their efforts to propel us towards a fifth-place finish and Play-Off position last year are recognised and appreciated, although sadly we are in a result-orientated business and our on-field results of late and progress this season has been very poor. As such, we have had no choice but to relieve them of their duties in an effort to improve results and league position with a change of manager.

“I’d like to personally wish Neil and David the very best with their future undertakings and endeavours. They will always be welcome faces at Cardiff City Stadium and I wish them good luck and good health. God bless.”

Good luck to him.

Nice guy, but unfortunately last night showed where we are.

I do honestly believe we have some really good players here, even the ones brought in this week Watters and Ng showed some quality.

I hope the next manager can gel this team quickly and stop the slide.

At bloody last - it wasnt working, players werent playing for him, little to no direction on the pitch and seemingly things were getting worse rather than better.

The right decision, if a few weeks late.

Who they bring in now is going to say a lot about their ambitions going forward.

Really want us to move away from the type of football we have been playing over the last few years and more towards a possession based game. Not passing for passings sake, but equally not lumping it up field.

I don’t really want to see a caretaker appt, I’d rather let someone come in now permanently and take a good look at the squad ready for next season

Correct decision and only himself to blame.

Decision should have been made weeks ago but at least it's done. Hopefully the club has been looking at managers and will have someone confirmed in the next day or so.

Who ever they decide they have to back him in the transfer market and with only a week left in the window I hope we get action soon.

Yes, a nice guy but it didn't work out for him here. I wish him all the best. People who rejoice at his sacking clearly lack the human emotions of sympathy and empathy.

Absolutely agree with your comments about many of our players and the next manager. :thumbright:

Its long overdue he was out of his depth unfortunatly for him and more so for us look where we are the seasons over and we in a lot worse place than when he took over the wrong end of the table .

Being a decent bloke has nothing to do with it, when exactly did being a decent bloke ever keep a football manager in a job when results are similar to NH. I'd say Never. Personally I won't lose any sleep over him getting sacked or for being called childish by well YOU.

If Neil Harris was a chairman or owner of a club - he would have sacked the manager given the same set of results.

Who next ? - isnt it about time we went for a manager from abroad ? - weve never had one of those before

Such an obvious comment. As if I didn't realise....doh!
Merely expressing that there are human beings with human feelings involved and in my view there is no need for personal nastiness towards individuals. The irony is that it's obvious my comments were lost on you.

I didn't say that being a good bloke should keep a manager in a job...so why make that up???
I'm just disappointed in the total lack of class by some of our fans who are reacting in either a very nasty or very infantile way towards the sacking.

Fair enough and I suppose I may have let myself down with the multiple wave him off but nasty please.

I'm delighted he has gone and he should have gone weeks ago and the only thing I wish him is good health other than that I couldn't give a toss.

If that means I lack class or infantile well I'll just have to learn to live with my failings.

I tried to back Harris for this season to build a squad

After last night's defeat

I'm glad he's resigned as he was under so much pressure and I was beginning to think he won't recover from it.

Another lesson for tan and choo

Please get a fully established manager in please

The statement said (quote) "we have had no choice but to relieve them of their duties..."

In layman's terms, that's sacked! ;)
