BREAKING: ‘ UPDATE SACKED NEIL HARRIS SACKED ‘

:bluebird: UPDATED :bluebird:

Neil Harris: Cardiff City sack manager after six straight defeats :thumbright:

NEIL HARRIS WAS SACKED AT LUNCH TIME TODAY.

Assistant manager David Livermore has also left Cardiff City Stadium along with Harris.

More of Harris's backroom staff are also expected to leave.

Steve Morrison manager of U23's who Harris brought in, is also expected to leave.

Vincent Tan has stated: “I’d like to thank Neil and David sincerely for their hard work at Cardiff City.

“Their efforts to propel us towards a fifth-place finish and Play-Off position last year are recognised and appreciated, although sadly we are in a result-orientated business and our on-field results of late and progress this season has been very poor. As such, we have had no choice but to relieve them of their duties in an effort to improve results and league position with a change of manager.

“I’d like to personally wish Neil and David the very best with their future undertakings and endeavours. They will always be welcome faces at Cardiff City Stadium and I wish them good luck and good health. God bless.”

EARLIER: :bluebird:

A MEETING IS GOING ON NOW VIA VIDEO LINK FROM BOARD MEMBERS TO TAN FROM OUR CLUB & DALMAN & CHOO ARE WANTING TAN TO GET RID.

Harris was at the Vale training like normal today as normal and as he said he would be bringing the players back in for extra training.

However Ken Choo and Dalman cars were seen at the CCS though and they are very rarely here anymore always in London, but both want Harris gone. Yet Tan still standing by Harris .

I am still hearing Dalman and Choo for over 2 weeks now have wanted Harris gone.

Tan is still with Harris I. His idea of getting rid of older players bringing in youngsters from our Accademy and buying from lower leagues.

All the big names you heard that Harris was bringing in, none are happening.

And to be fair Harris is right, players only come in now if the more expensive or higher wage ones go first.

Harris has done what Tan wanted, reduced the wage bill massively , reduced the the squad, spent no money as we sold players first.

Still a reasonable chance we will avoid that.

However, if we do go down what will happen to the likes of Moore and one or two others who could still cut it in the Championship like Morrison?

Harris knew what was required before taking job so can't blame Mr Tan or the club. My own personal opinion is Warnock sold them a dummy as a parting gift.

There is plenty in this squad to remain in the Championship. Harris has had bad luck with injuries but equally his decisions both with team selection, in game tactics and simple motivation have been utterly woeful. Hes lost it now and the team.needs a new voice. If we have to go cheap with a new manager so be it. But we must have a new voice in that dressing room as we are sinking fast.

Never ever blame our club, our club we love :bluescarf: :bluebird:

The Regime I do not and will never trust or believe in the current ones.

Our club I love unconditionally, 49 consecutive years a season ticket holder they could go to non league, I will love our club and will follow no matter what.

Funny thing here is the fact that even the board is divided! Never a good sign. You want a decisive vote of confidence or no confidence but the casting vote is with the man and the golden wallet!

Tan couldn’t ask more from Harris; let’s be honest music to his ears hearing a manager was about to work under massive financial implications and be happy to do so!

We are where we are because of this cutting of players rightly or wrongly but we can’t keep going like this. The players are useless at the moment and look like they can’t be arsed and Harris doesn’t look like he’s a clue.

Annis, if changes aren’t made pretty soon I fear our club will go 20 years backwards.

Vincent Tan always said that he would leave our club in a better position than that when he took over. It’s difficult to see how that’s going to be the way things are going...

Very well said Annis.

Very difficult times for us and none of us know where it went wrong. The managers role is the first thing to be terminated but will it resolve the problem. We have a few weeks of uncertainty ahead of us but we all will remain supporting the club.

Had to happen , im sure we all wanted NH to succeed, but he was way in over his head unfortunately.

The next appointment is probably the biggest in decades for our football club

Will they get it right, i certainly hope so as league 1 is a distinct possibility on the current form

We will soon see how much damage has been done to the current squad with NH tactics and DL coaching.

Body language certainly dictates it is not a happy camp.

Totally agree Annis, not a day goes by when I don't think about city for one reason or another, first season was 66-67 and been hooked ever since. Been in 56,000 against Arsenal, and 1,600 on a Friday night against Halifax, your team is for life.

I’m usually pretty reluctant about sacking a manager and I’d have probably given him another couple of weeks. But let’s stabilise the team with a new man. I’d probably go for Paul Cook who is just about the only name being mentioned who doesn’t have some sort of baggage. Alternative maybe Flynn from the County.

Neil Harris: Cardiff City sack manager after six straight defeats -

Cardiff City have sacked manager Neil Harris after a run of six consecutive defeats.

Harris, 43, and his assistant manager David Livermore both leave the club with immediate effect.

Wednesday's 1-0 home defeat by QPR was Cardiff's fifth in succession in the Championship and their sixth in all competitions.

The Bluebirds are 15th in the table, 13 points adrift of the play-off places and nine from the relegation zone.

Cardiff have not yet appointed a successor to Harris and said in a statement "a new permanent manager and assistant will be announced in due course".

Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan said: "I'd like to thank Neil and David sincerely for their hard work at Cardiff City.

"Their efforts to propel us towards a fifth-place finish and play-off position last year are recognised and appreciated, although sadly we are in a result-orientated business and our on-field results of late and progress this season has been very poor.

"As such, we have had no choice but to relieve them of their duties in an effort to improve results and league position with a change of manager."

Harris succeeded Neil Warnock as Cardiff manager in November 2019 and led the club to the Championship play-off semi-finals last season.

Not nice to see a city manager sacked-as it usually means the club is doing badly. But this has been a long time coming. To say Harris has been clueless this season would be putting it nicely. Even with our current injuries a decent manager would have us comfortably in the top 10 and chasing playoffs. Shame Tan waited so long as we are now to far off the top 6.

Lets hope the club gets the next appointment right. I wouldnt mind Cooke coming in.

Fans reactions:

So let's see what the general feeling amongst the fanbase is.

I do feel a bit sorry for Neil Harris, seems like a nice guy but just wasn’t good enough. Shame it didn’t work out but definitely the right decision to let him go

Bye bye Neil Harris you will not be missed

— Emo Martin (@RileyWoodman2) January 21, 2021
Neil Harris should have been given more time. Can't even lose 6 in a row anymore. Games gone.

— Henry (@HTAM96) January 21, 2021
Good Luck Neil Harris, a decent man I wanted to do well. Despite his poor tactics, his players should look in the mirror also.

Far too many under-performed, letting him & us down. His inability to sort it or show any improvement was his demise.

Annis not sure if your comments which were quickly followed by a few more agreeing with you was aimed at me BUT I did not blame the club or twist f*cking anything, In fact I said the complete opposite, that the club cannot be blamed, , as for supporting City not that it's anyone's business but '74 for me not that matters as to me ONE game or a THOUSAND games we are all the same and allowed our own views.

Perhaps it was down to mentioning the so called Messiah ( who recommend NH )

Whoever comes next will get again have my support and like NH will lose it as soon as they start blaming players who have left the club so cannot defend themselves against cowardly comments.

Re: BREAKING: ‘ UPDATE SACKED NEIL HARRIS SACKED ‘

I always said it but I think he is a good manager its just that his attitude and character can not simply motivate the team week in week out. Its just the way it is. Our club needs a manager who will be take us up the table 1 way or another. Gripping the team and scream at them until they get the picture the club wants. The team needs an over hall with players leaving and new young welsh players coming in. I feel the club want this as well.

I would still want to wish him all the best for the future and hope that there is no bad blood with him and the club. Even he can say that the results was not going to turn around in a week.

Re: BREAKING: ‘ UPDATE SACKED NEIL HARRIS SACKED ‘

Thu Jan 21, 2021 5:35 pm

Listen I don’t like to slag a man off who’s just lost his job but it was so clear that he was never going to turn it round. I believe he would be a good manager for a league 1 club with aspirations of a promotion hunt but at championship level he is too clueless. When he didn’t know what to do he’d just go 4-4-2 with a big man and little man. Unfortunately the game has moved past that now. Fantastic news he has gone now we need to really think about his replacement as we could get it wrong and slide into relegation from here. I reckon the appointment will be ok there are a couple of decent managers who don’t have a club at the moment

Re: BREAKING: ‘ UPDATE SACKED NEIL HARRIS SACKED ‘

Thu Jan 21, 2021 5:51 pm

It took longer than expected but this is positive news for club and (most) supporters  :ayatollah:

A few of us said 'Watch this space...' and got mocked by the usual suspects when we knew Neil Harris was in trouble some weeks ago

To be fair, Vincent Tan stood by his man as long as he could in the face of his 'advisors' telling him differently

Personally, I thought Vincent Tan's statement explaining the decision was one of the best I have seen

We don't see what goes on behind the scenes, just the on-field performances, but it seems there was respect for Neil Harris as a man; a very rare thing for a 'sacked' manager to take away in football

I wish Neil Harris all the very best for his future; just not at this club! :bluescarf:
