HARRIS:”GIVE ME TIME/I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL”

NEIL HARRIS:

"I've shown, in my managerial career, that if I'm given time then I can be successful," Harris said after the match.

"In football, we are not given time and I understand that.”

"Again, I'm being really honest with you, I feel that the pressure is on without a shadow of doubt, because of the expectation of the football club.”

"But it's not something I can control. I know that I push my staff hard and prepare in the correct manner, we don't leave any stone unturned, but results haven't been good enough.

"That's a question for the board."

“Given time and I will be successful here.”

The fan base is divided over Harris' future, however with the results worsening there are far fewer backers than just a couple of weeks ago.

And while Harris understands the supporters' feelings, he said all he can do is prepare his side the best they can for the next game.

"What I can control is picking the players up, galvanising them over the next few days," Harris added.

"I can control team selection and tactics leading into Barnsley next week.

"But the outside noise and question marks over my future, obviously I completely understand, but I control that.

"So I will leave that to the powers above me."

Successful ? where to? In league 1?? That’s the way we are heading under you

Successful at being utter shite? You've succeeded at that

Sorry Neil, you have to go!!!

Sadly I can’t see it, if previous posts are true, about tan not wanting to sack him!

"But it's not something I can control" - the expectation of the football club.

Yes it is you absolute rat. It's your job to meet the expectations.

Any decent manager would thrive off the expectation not complain about it.

Pinning the blame everywhere but at his own front door.

To think we got bored of Warnock-ball and then got served up with Nothing-ball.

Harris you are arrogant and self centred enough to probably read this forum.

Get out of this club. You were never wanted by many and now not wanted by everyone.

You are so much out of your depth your interviews sound like they are being played out by David Brent with your soundboard quotes and goto phrases from the 'Managers for Dummies' handbook.

Millwall didn't even want you and would never want you back. They have moved on and under a new manager much happier and playing much better football.

Like every manager out there,he wants to be a winner, but his way clearly ain’t working,he might get success at another club, but it’s not working at Cardiff city,I don’t think anyone will disagree, his style of football ain’t the best to watch, for example Harry Wilson was worth £20 million, before his loan stay,he’s making him look like division two player, this squad of players are better than what they are producing, may be not automatics, but could enough to be challenging for the play offs, under his management,we won’t get relegated, but we ain’t going to finish much higher than the relegation places, thanks for the efforts Neil, but it’s time for you to depart

This is a new one from him. He has had one job before and he was more successful in the beginning and was going down the league towards the end hence why they let him go. He started well here but is now getting worse and worse. The problem is is think with the right new manager In and a bounce I think we could still make the playoffs this year with some luck and every game with this idiot I’m charge it is becoming less and less possible.

Was that comment to say..please feel sorry for me, what he means is he won't get a better opportunity with a club like this for a long time, the fans need success now not in 2 or 3 years, maybe go down to league one then come back up, it's not as easy as that, look at Bolton and Sunderland how big they are, the club must move forward quickly.
It's a hard league for managers, sorry to say Harris has got to go.

Be amazed if he survives until lunchtime but as we ALL know anything is possible with VT. Remember when VT asked us ALL to "Be reasonable" about Russell Slade :o well who turned out to be right about that one.

I purchased my ST this season but my message to VT is "Be Reasonable" Vincent how on earth can you expect anyone to pay for another ST to watch the dross served up by NH.

Looking back I think that the ONLY reason NH survived last season was Lee Tomlin because he covered up the short comings of NH and his backroom staff at this level. Without Tomlin well this is where we get.

This is not about competence or if NH is a nice guy who works hard and means well, this is football, an entertainment which at it's very core is ABOUT WINNING.

He has to go and right now I'd take Baldrick as manager at least he had a plan.

INCREDIBLE ! He’ absolutely having himself - he says
“I’ve shown in my managerial career that if I’m given time then I can be successful !”
SERIOUSLY ???
He was manager of Millwall for four and a bit seasons ....

Fist took over in March 2015 season - got relegated from the championship !!

2016 - finished 4th in League one (with one of the best squads) and lost in play offs

2017 - finished 6th in League one (with one of the beat squads) and won the play offs

2018 - finished 8th in championship

2019 - the year he left - Millwall finished 21st in championship !!!!!!!!

Well done Neil - great amazing job at Millwall

Successful is a hard term to quantify.

For example scientists say that put a monkey in front of a type writer and at some point that monkey will randomly type out a Shakespeare play. Because eventually given the fullness of time those characters will be type out by the monkey. It could happen straight away or it could take a million years.

I woudl ask Harris one question - if he was the owner or chairman of a club and they had just lost 5 on the bounce and had previously lost 4 on the bounce as well. And the style of play looked at best random. Would Harris sack the manager ?

I think we know the answer.........

Given the state of QPR does anyone think Warnock or Mackay would have lost that game last night?. Or even lost the last 5. Every game he is in charge is a nail in his managerial career - unfortunately he is taking us down with him

The comment about the fan base divided made me laugh. I think every fan is pretty much in agreement that Harris the weasel has to go.

Tan has to shoulder alot of the blame for letting this fiasco go on months longer than it should have. He's surrounds himself with yes men and cheerleaders to back up his bad decision making absolutely spineless individuals.

I honestly don't blame Harris for not walking away, if he gets sacked he'll probably get a decent pay out and after his failures at us and Millwall there ain't going to be many takers for his services.

So Tan listen to the fans for once sack Harris pay whatever it is that's needed for him to be gone and put us all out of our misery.

I don't know any other club that is chasing promotion that would stick by a manager after losing 6 games in a row....apart from us.

That’s Glen Williams from Media Wales. Big friend of Harris’s

You will not be successful you are taking us to league 1. The fan base is not divided the majority want you gone. Should have happened weeks ago.

It wouldn't be so bad if we could see he was building something. But I still can't work out what exactly he's trying to do. His team selection is shit, his tactics are shit, he's is incapable of reading a game to make changes to influence the game. He keeps doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.

Absolutely clueless. Time to go.

There comes a time in any unsuccessful managers tenure when keeping him on bacomes perverse and we have now reached that moment. He has been reasonably successful in the past but not successful enough for most people to think he can turn things around.

The odd thing is I think he has a squad of players good enough to at least challenge for the playoffs and they seem to be failing so completely we are soon going to be in danger of being relegated. Don't think it is in any way tenable for him to stay any longer.
