Bacuna and Ralls tonight

Wed Jan 20, 2021 10:58 pm

Both players need to have a long hard look at your themselves

Harris will take all the Criticism tonight but those two were absolutely pitiful

Lack of effort, lack of commitment, lack of ability.. both players were absolutely useless and an embarrassment to our club tonight

I agree mate. I’m a fan of Ralls but for the first time, I saw players just down tools. Frustration? No idea but there’s never an excuse for a player to pull out of a 50/50 and both of those did it tonight. Very disappointing

Not playing for the shirt, should be embarrassed to wear it m8

The money the both of these are on is beyond belief.

They are both delusional as neither are good footballers, just over paid Jessie’s who need to play in league one or lower.

Neither is fit to wear the shirt and actually they do the shirt a dis-service. Summers coming about time you moved on. :old:

Totally agree, like you I am a big Ralls fan and even when he is playing badly he still wants the ball and gives his all

Tonight I was shocked by his attitude, I have never seen him give up before. Shocking and embarrassing tonight

If you watch the move leading up to the throw in that led to the goal Ralls lost the ball near the halfway line and just walked back letting the winger run at Bennett, 20 seconds later we're 1 down!

In my view he’s been poor all reason but last night he was embarrassing.

I couldn’t believe it when Harris took Vaulks off and left Ralls and Bacuna on. At least Vaulks tried to put tackles in and was always looking for the ball.

I think harris reads this board and does listen. Problem is it's always a game too late. Against Barnsley hell take ralls and bacuna off when they're playing better and leave vaulkes on just to show us he knows what he's doing NOT.

I have and will always defend Ralls, he is what he is and if the manager is too inept to know that then there is the answer.

There is "The Team" the sum of which should be greater than the individual parts....That difference is how you measure the manager. Our team is producing less than the sum of the parts and he has to work out why.

Remember the endless boring Whitts/Gunnar debates, where the fans would have a go at each players weaknesses not accentuate their individual strengths, but played together their obvious strengths counteracted the other weakness and they were a decent unit.

Roll on to Harris insistence that we play 3 narrow central midfielders. Great if you are carrying ones in terms of mobility or stamina.
When Tomlin starts we play with two central midfielders pick anyone from Ralls, Vaulks and Bacuna and they all have legs, strength, can tackle/intercept pass to another player. What they can't do if find that key pass or dribble like a Tomlin.

In the modern game Ralls best position (IMO) is the more advanced in a double pivot. One out and out DCM and Ralls doing what he does. But for that you need a genuine AMC which i think is Wilson but Harris is so negative there is no one to hit for our basic passers.

Vaulks hit so many wayward passes even by his low standards, Bacuna wasn't in the game at all and that was Ralls worse game for a very long time.

Harris is and has always been the problem.

I can accept that we can all have our own opinions on players abilities. You rate Ralls, I don't (at this level).

However, what got me about last night was his lack of effort and running. He did and his lack of tracking back contributed to the goal. I can accept a lac of ability and everybody will have different "favourites" but what I won't accept, whoever is the manager, is a lack of effort and bravery and I will certainly level that criticism at Bacuna and Ralls last night.

Wilson had a poor game but he kept running despite being kicked virtually every time he tried to go past a man and kept making runs. That all most of us ask.

Ralls forget his lack of effort last night the bottom line is he’s a division one player at best and always has been. He wouldn’t get in any team in the top 10 fact.

I agree. He may not be everyone’s cup of tea but at least you could see he was putting the effort in...unlike some.
Wondering if some players’ heads have been turned in the transfer window and they don’t want an injury.

I've been saying about ralls being poor since QPR away and got alot of sh*t on twitter for it, hes just another one who has an engine.
All 3 of them in there cant pass a ball & their main attributes are running around, I can't accept that from a pro footballer.
Ralls for the goal was a joke as someone pointed out, lost possession and not tracking back. Just looked frustrated and just kicking the ball around aimlessly, pathetic performance

Joe is a strange one as he doesn't excell at anything with the football. He needs to be 100% peak condition to have an impact on a game :ayatollah:

I've not judged Bacuna as he has been playing out of position. Now he has played where we all think he should play he was a disappointment there. I'll give him a bit more time but at the moment he is on my list to get rid off.

I usually will defend Ralls too mate as he will always give his all and has a good engine. Signs that he couldn’t be @rsed last night though and he definitely $hit out of 2 tackles and that’s not like him at all. Hope this means that he’s downed tools for Harris rather than he’s off elsewhere.

Since being a regular player the club has finished 11th, 8th, 12th, 2nd and 5th. Plus a season in the PL where he made 28 appearances. 6 managers (10 if you count caretakers, which some seem to do) have deemed him good enough for the Championship and he’s lasted nearly a decade at a club who’s average finishes and ambitions are higher than 10th. He’s outlasted dozens of players that are better than League 1 quality and it’s ridiculous to claim that’s his level. He’s played 205 league games in the last 6 seasons and played in all but 2 games this season.

He had a poor game last night and in recent weeks, but then who hasn’t? We’ve been poor most of the season.
