Scousers v mancs. If pubs were open they’d be full of the South Wales glory hunters screaming at sky sports. Ironically next month the same diehard football fans will suddenly become proud passionate welsh men during 6 nations and will hate anything English. Strange!!

Very strange and a tad embarrassing . I know quite a few , and the closest they have been to either city is probably Brecon

Strange indeed. Annis have you heard Sludge Factory v Leighton James from the Resl Sports phone in from a couple of years ago? Talks about this exactly. If you’ve not heard it, it’s on YouTube. Worth a listen.

When I was kid I didn't have any Cardiff City exposure. It was all Liverpool and Man UTD. Didnt know any kids with city shirts.

I agree mate. When my dad asked if I fancied going to watch Cardiff v QPR (league cup 76/77) I thought ‘great, I get to see the side that’s currently 2nd in the old first division’.

So true. It’s the in-group out-group psychology. It’s a natural phenomenon but it tends to get the better of the less insightful. Still, I do genuinely hate the Jacks but they’re not actually 100% human right?

Probably summed it up there with the 6 nations reference. Most plastic football fans I know have never been to a Wales football match but avidly watch the six nations (on tv of course) but have never been near Cardif Arms Park, Rodney Parade etc
