Perry Ng - £350k from Crewe Medical in Cardiff tomorrow AND

Sun Jan 17, 2021 10:48 am

Perry Ng - £350k (The deal is worth up to) from Crewe Medical in Cardiff tomorrow.

Watters, Ng and Jack Simpson are expected to go straight into the squad for QPR on Wednesday.

Cardiff also after a winger. Not sure who.

Crewe Alexandra manager David Artell has confirmed that Perry Ng is set to leave the Railwaymen, with the club accepting an offer from Cardiff worth up to £350,00.

Artell told BBC Radio Stoke that he left the 24-year-old out of his squad to face Plymouth Argyle due to how close a move was, with Cardiff City having a bid rejected for the right-back last week.

“We’re in final discussions with Cardiff – we’re very close to agreeing what we need to agree,” said Artell.

“I spoke to Perry in the hotel last night and again this morning after he’d slept on what we had to say to him and between us.

To be fair to Harris his strength has been his recruitment . After a right back, we really need a new midfield it’s so one paced no creativity whatsoever. This is reason most of our strikers struggle as we don’t create enough chances

Forget a winger, the priority once right back is sorted is to get a ball playing forward thinking midfield player.

So much for Crewe not going to speak to us again

Very happy with the business so far if all 3 players sign.

Looks like Harris is being backed financially.

I’d rather he was gone but I will say his recruitment has been one of his strengths, if he could sort his tactics out we would be in business!!!!!

They were always going to Do a deal , makes no sense to run a contract out and get nothing at that level as 350/500k is a lot of money

They were just playing the game , wouldn't suprise me if it dragged on to the last days of the window to see if they can get a few interested and bump the fee up.

100% agree.
As I’ve said in an earlier thread, I’d prefer our new players to be from our own youth set up but imo I think these are quite low risk and hopefully they’ll turn out good players with us. Prefer players fighting to prove something than journeymen on loan picking up a big wage.

Has Harris's recruitment been his strength though? If it has how come we keep on losing all the time. I accecpt he isn't a master tactician but if he had been recruiting brilliantly we would not have lost six of the last seven games. Maybe if Harris had been managing the mid seventies Brazil side with Pele et al they would have gone out of the World Cup losing to Zaire in the group stage instead of actually winning it with him getting the blame for lumping the ball to the pint sized Pele. Actually he would have probably replaced Pele with some Marlon Pack type player.

Harris didn’t recruit Pack, Nelson, Bennett, Glatzel, Hoillett and Vaulks and imo at least 3-4 of those have been underperforming every one of those 6 games.

I think you have knocked the nail on the head.

By far the most realistic statement on here for a while.

Now Harris has got his reinforcements and with key players returning, we can look forward to the rest of the season.

I do think that the majority of the players mentioned above should be moved on because they don't have a future with the club, if the club is going to progress.

Cheers Spike. Forgot to add Bacuna to the list.

Yes but the players he has recruited are hardly setting the world alight. Wilson we know is a good player but he has been ordinary for us the odd flash of quality but nothing more. Ojo despite coming from Liverpool is just an ordinary championship level player I actually prefer Hoilett and Murphy ahead of him, why do we need him? Tutu is an ok full back when not injured but he is injured most of the time not Harris's fault. I will give him Moore a great signing but we knew he would be a good centre forward. I am not saying he has recited badly but it sure as he'll isn't showing in the results and ultimately that's what counts.

One thing that pleases me is we now seem to have a strategy of bringing in younger players.

I think this is the right thing to do, especially as the vast majority of our Development and Academy players aren't good enough - perhaps with the exception of Joel Bagan and Mark Harris.

Much prefer this to us signing established players, but are heading into their 30s.

But generally, Harris’ recruits are doing better in the team imo. Plus if you have 5-6 poor players it’s going to drag the others down. All opinions though mate.

You do know our under 23s is made up of 18/19/20yr olds
Our under 18 have 16/17 yr olds
All playing out of thier proper age groups
Harris has made huge changes ( for the better)in our academy
Not least buy moving on 10 under23s not good enough
Example coxe under warnock was going to be a first teamer soon
Hes been let go and is playing for a non league club and that was the best he could get
I dont think your comments about our academy come from knowledge

Never thought I'd see the words "Pele" and "Marlon Pack" in the same sentence.

Ralls, Vaulks and/or Pack have to be the weakest central midfield in the league.

If the tight back comes then at least that’ll allow Bacuna to replace Vaulks.

You’re right in respect of it’s easy for people on here to knock the club when they know little to nothing about what’s going on.

What riled me was the idiot posters on here that said they were embarrassed because of our so called first bid for this Ng guy wasn’t high enough! Ffs.

Our u23s actually have one of if not the youngest average age in the respective league

They won the league than 2 years ago for the first time ever as a u18s team. They will come good in the next year or so as they grow and get more experience.

I have been no fan of Harris, but when undoubtedly the greatest ever championship manager realises that this squad is a mess and quickly packs his bags it has always been a big task.

With Kieffer back we look a competent unit even against the leaders of the division.

I am opposite to most on here and believe we don't need to do anything in midfield, the problem position is wide forward.

Bacuna or Vaulks and Ralls should be enough dog in midfield then play Wilson or even Junior as the third (attacking) midfielder. IMO Wilson isn't a wide forward or winger, he works hard, doesn't mind a bit of physicality, he needs to be the third midfielder.

Keiffer is a must, then Murphy as a wide forward but we don't have another genuine wide forward. Ojo reminds me of Jay Emmanuel Thomas, good control, extremely well coached but doesn't really have a position and very little end product. We need speed a Ojo doesn't have it. Sadly Juniors days as a wide forward are over and if we are talking contract extensions it can only be infield. Hopefully Watters is the answer, but i am not sure he looked that quick.

If Harris releases the defensive shackles off we may be a half decent outfit.

Fantastic news
all we need to do is sell the players who clearly wont play for us.
So I would sell Tomlin, Murphy And Flint.

Tomlin gets injured alot, Murphy has no confidence and Flint is too similar to Morrison so wont work.

No more underachieving wingers please , n the championship the engine midfielders are vital, get workhirse and creative midfielders in .
