£200,000 is a good price for an initial fee.

Only 21, so a good age to develop as well.

Going by the stats, he's worth the gamble for a relatively small price.

Could be another Vardy (highly unlikely) or another Doyle (more likely) - but worth a punt even he comes somewhere in between those two.

Was Doyle all that bad?

Scored a few goals

I would say Revell was probably worse for us out of the 2

Watters should suit our free-flowing approach to attacking football.

Cardiff City are expected to beat off competition from a host of Championship clubs – including Swansea City – to sign Crawley Town striker Max Watters, according to Football Insider.

Watters was out on loan in the Northern Premier League Division One and National League South from Doncaster Rovers last season, but has quickly established himself as one of the most feared strikers in League Two following his move to the Reds.

The striker has notched 13 times in just 15 outings this term, finding the net once ever 79 minutes, which is the best goals per minute ratio in the division.

And Football Insider believe that Watters is in advanced talks over the possibility of moving to the Cardiff City Stadium on a permanent basis this January.

We dropped our interest in him weeks ago, good luck with him.

Nice to know.
Why don’t you find yourself a very short cliff, and take a very long walk!

Looks like Tan , still willing to spend ! Not all championship clubs are . Lot of clubs say they are looking ( keep the fans happy ) but not many are spending. Most clubs are relying on loans ;)

forget his scoring record at the moment, the questions should be, how do Crawley play, does he play on his own as a lone striker, or does he need a target man with him. harris likes to play 442 when he can, but with our midfield we would get totally over run the middle, can he play other positions other than striker, because when tomlin is back, i can see wilson being chucked on the wing again sadly, and then tomlin will be behind moore. where will this lad be then, can he play wide left, or behind the striker if tomlins injured

Anyone know what type of striker he is?
Good in air / quick / number 10?

We won't go far wrong with that policy to be fair. Pity we didn't have in place at the start of the season because we should have signed Jamal Lowe for a snip at £600k as some of us were recommending.

No season you need to be overrun in midfield if you are playing a 4-2-2 some of the best teams in the world play it. You need your front two to work hard and the wider players to help out. If we had two players up front who could score goals it would work.

Well I’m not excited by this , he didn’t make appearance against Leeds until 72 minute , terrible signing if it happens

Or he could simply have been being saved for the league.

In the long run it may work out, it may not... one would imagine though that his confidence must be sky high off the back of his form this season.

I noted he came on late versus Leeds but the commentators were full of praise

He only signed for Crawley in October and his goal scoring record looks pretty sound for the number of appearances made; not withstanding some of those have come from the bench and/or he has been subsituted a couple of times

Maybe the 'poacher' we need next to the big fella, Moore?

Welcome to the madhouse, Max Watters... :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Swansea put a bid in based on their valuation of Watter who to be honest nobody had ever heard of until last month . No different from Cardiff's valuation of Perry Ng .some you win some you lose
