Cardiff City's transfer stance on Leeds United striker and Sheffield Wednesday target Tyler Roberts

The 21-year-old is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs, with Cardiff City among those recently linked

Cardiff City are not currently interested in a move for Leeds United striker Tyler Roberts.

Reports had previously suggested that Bournemouth, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End have all joined City in showing an interest in taking Roberts on loan until the end of the season.

Those reports are wide of the mark.

The forward has made just three starts for the Whites this season, the last of which came on October 3, and there remains speculation over whether a temporary deal could be done to take the 21-year-old to the Championship.

While insiders at Cardiff are understood to rate the player highly, it's understood the Bluebirds are not among the clubs looking to take the Welshman on.

Cardiff boss Neil Harris has admitted that he's open to bringing in another striker over the coming weeks, but believes that the FA Cup, and the chances it brings for players on the fringes of first-team football, may well have had an impact on the club's transfer efforts so far.

"There’s players we’ve enquired about at other clubs that perhaps haven’t played a lot of football coming into this weekend, but now all of a sudden they’re in line for a start because it’s the FA Cup," he said.

"So that’s probably why there’s not been a lot of movement before this weekend in this league or the Premier League. We need to add to the ranks, definitely.

"Strength in depth and to just freshen up as well. It always spurs people on."

Even if he did come in he would be put at RB, anyone coming in under NH is going to be introduced to dire Millwall clone football.

As much as I’d love you see him at Cardiff. New player, new ideas etc I can’t see him joining.

The first thing he’ll do is look at our position. Then he’ll look at our style of play. Then he’ll think about if he does join will it improve him as a player. The answer is no.

Just take Wilson. Are Wales going to be better off for him playing at Cardiff!! F no!!! I’d have rather him at Liverpool in the reserves. At least he’d be getting taught the Liverpool way of football. Not fuckin hoof ball!

Get Harris out. Get someone in who would rather the ball on the floor!!

If we get a CM in as well we may see a better style of play. If not, no chance.

Didn't anyone hear Harris? We are not bringing anyone in. We are also looking to bring in 3 players. No one is expected to go out. People need to go out before they come in. Oh, and we have no money! :D

Then the next thing he should be saying is "Yes we have some money"!
