Behind the scenes all along....

Tan has agreed a sale to be ratified at the end of the season. Part of the deal is he stays quiet from the media all season. The deal with the new buyer is to simply keep the club in the Championship this season, as the new buyers will invest heavily in a top manager and squad for next season. Tan sees this as the opportunity to sell the current crop with value to recoup some more of his investment, to which the new buyers agree.

Half way through the season, Tan is not convinced 100% that Harris can keep the club in the division, so asks if he can appoint the new owners manager in January.

The new regime are not happy but agree, and Arsene Wenger is appointed in January.

End of the season, we see mega rich owners of the like of Man City, PSG, formally take over, and Wenger is given a blank cheque book to take Cardiff City to the Premiership and Champions League.
