Rotherham United’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Cardiff City at AESSEAL New York Stadium has been postponed.

Following a pitch inspection by today’s match referee shortly before 2pm and subsequent conversations with both managers, the decision has been taken to call off the game in the interest of player safety.

A late flurry of snow in South Yorkshire and the forecast for the rest of the day on Saturday were both key factors in the decision to postpone the fixture.

Disappointing but I actually think we would have lost today. Better to regroup for two weeks and get players fit. The youth team can play against Notts Forest.

Although we probably needed this game right now, I wasn't confident of a reaction from the players and management.

Positives though. We should have players back for the rearranged fixture. Tutu, Morrison, Moore, maybe even Tomlin?!

Absolutely not. Let's play a full strength team against Notts Forest who as they are still in a bit of relegation trouble will probably field a weakened side. We are not going to make the playoffs or be relegated so a bit of a cup run is the only thing left of the season. We could probably do with the money too. Getting completely fed up of our tame surrenders against lower league opposition in the cup.

....means that the next league match is home to Norwich which on paper at least looks like a more certain ‘0’ points.

As our next league game is 2 weeks away, if the Chairman had a football brain we should sack the manager now so the new manager will have time with the players.
