Leeds and Progressive Management

Tue Dec 29, 2020 10:58 pm

Feb 2018 we smashed them 4-1 at Elland Road, all their fans marching out together at half time. Tonight they’ve totally smashed West Brom away with pace and attitude in every position. I hate Leeds since FA Cup away in 1974 but they are up and coming whilst we are sadly slip sliding away with our management set up and business plan to survive only in this division.

And spent £90M on players. Bit odd, Adrian Durham described them as a rag tag outfit today in a Bielsa arse lick. Bielsa is good, but great Managers win trophies.

a mediocre mid table team...or an under performing team having spent £25 million the season prior to his arrival... he got you up and now youve chucked money at giving yourselves a fighting chance of staying up and good luck to you ... its a decent enough job but all this rag tag outfit stuff is nonsense...you were one of ,if not THE favs to go up...you went up...

After the Derby defeat the season before when they beat us in the play offs I definitely didn't feel like the favourites for the title tag tbh that was down to bielsa us us winning promotion. But going back to your owner in your prem experience why oh why didn't he invest more? You did the hard bit by getting there why didn't he spend more to keep you up.

We spent 15 million on a striker in January. Obviously due to the unfortunate circumstances that played out 2 men lost their lives and Sala never played for us.

Agreed very sad indeed but in cruel cutthroat bissness of football nowadays tan should have pumped more into what was a decent team anyway who am I to criticise you say but bloody hell you were better that the west broms the magpies the fulhams you had a great opportunity to do a Sheffield utd..

No-one knows why we didn’t invest. We needed 3 more quality players, would have stayed up I think. Either didn’t have the money, or shortsightedness. Big error that, Sala aside. Bielsa is good, but he’s not in the same Lge as Mourinho, Shankly, Ancelotti etc.. wait and see tho..

HNY mate.. and good luck for rest of the season

Cheers rumpo to compare bielsa with shankly or even don revie is a big no no what bielsa has bestowed on us is the mentality to drum into players that they can beat anybody obviously that dont work all the time but its what he demands 90 full mins of run your opposition ragged .
He also encourages players to play the one touch football everyone seems to like we have the manager that will attract players and that my friend is why your owner should have bought those 3 players you needed I wish you well this season and keep safe its a nasty world right now..

Yeah andy, it’s good watching Leeds now. Times have changed, years ago you had a Shanks or Cloughie who were legends, they were rare. In British football now, there’s been many greats quite quickly..

Luckiest has to be Di Matteo.. 8 games, European Cup. Anyway, Leeds back where they belong, we’re off to Darlington.

Well stay away from warnock he'll ruin you we found that out hes a journeyman living on his past. Can you not get bellamy in to manage you his football brain was a good mile ahead of your players when he helped you thump us again down your place i sat there by annis watching a world class player.
Happy new year m8 andy.

Yes he’s miles ahead.. over at Anderlecht I think with Vincent Kompany. Not sure if he’s keen on Tan.
Was watching Macreadie on Bremner today.. Mr Lee would have been proud of that one. Amazing game tho, atmosphere looked electric..was it as dramatic outside??

Cheers

Warnock took us from the relegation zone to the Premier League in less than 2 full seasons in charge. He's now taken Middlesbrough from fighting relegation to fighting for a play off spot in less than 6 months.

How ruinous of him....

you dont need much to stay up.... which id imagine is the number 1 priority followed by how high you can finish... and i was never over concerned about games against the top8 its the bottom half..4 wins and a couple of draws sorted...
