MY VIEW: AS NEIL HARRIS IS SENT OFF/CITY'S SHOCKING DISPLAY

Tue Dec 29, 2020 9:42 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION;

AS NEIL HARRIS IS SENT OFF/CITY'S SHOCKING DISPLAY AGAINST LITTLE WYCOMBE WANDERERS FOR ME WAS THE FINAL STRAW FOR OUR MANAGER.

ACCORDING TO CITY CHAIRMAN DALMAN IF NOT TOP 6 BY JAN HARRIS WILL BE GONE / WELL WE CANT BE TOP 6 NOW AFTER A DISGRACEFUL PERFORMANCE TONIGHT.

For me if Harris stays, even the play offs are beyond his reach.

No passion/feeling/pride ,it seems to have all gone under Harris

80th min
Neil Harris sent off!

was sent to the stands.

Ex Cardiff City player Gareth Ainsworth manager of prob the smallest club in the Championship took on Neil Harris's team full of quality signings tonight.

Cardiff City were playing bottom of the Championship Wycombe and nothing less than 3pts would be accepted by the Cardiff board or Cardiff fans

First-half: Cardiff were totally done by a third tier side. Wycombe won every second ball, Wycombe wanted it more

Second-half: City had no idea how to break down Wycombe and the more the game went on, City seemed to have given up in all departments.

WYCOMBE WANDERERS 2 CARDIFF CITY 1

H-T1-0
City: Smithies; Bacuna, Morrison, Nelson, Bennett; Wilson, Vaulks, Ralls. Ojo; Harris, Glatzel.

Subs: Phillips, Benkovic, Bagan, Cunningham, Pack, Patten, Whyte, Murphy, Hoilett.

After 20mins and virtually even stevens,
Wow: Morrison came off, Filip Benkovic came on for his debut.

33mins a free header for Wycombe

GOAL! Wycombe 1-0 Cardiff City (Tafazolli 33)

Goal! Wycombe score from a corner.

The ball was whipped to the back post and Benkovic, it has to be said, was at fault for that one, total lack of game time.

Tafazolli beat him to the ball and thumped home his header.
1-0

Cardiff were totally done by a third tier side. Wycombe won every second ball, Wycombe wanted it more

H-T 1-0

Cardiff started a little better, but yet again Wycombe wanted more.

GOAL! Wycombe 2-0 Cardiff City (Wheeler 63)

Wheeler doubled the lead!

McCleary steps inside Bacuna and whips a ball in between Nelson and Benkovic and Wheeler heads home from point-blank range!

That was way to easy. Far too easy.

Harris double Sub:

Mark Harris off, Josh Murphy on.

Will Vaulks off, Junior Hoilett on.

80th min
Neil Harris sent off!

was sent to the stands.

GOAL! Wycombe 2-1 Cardiff City (Hoilett 90+2)

Hoilett scores! Heads in from point-blank range!

Nothing more to say other than Harris out. He is humiliating our club. The board need to act now.

I said 3-1 to Wycombe was not far out even though I didn’t like saying it. Please lads don’t blame Benkovic it’s not his fault this has been happening for months.

Get him out. I've had months of derision from members of this forum calling me negative and what not but it's only because I could see Harris and the team were going nowhere other than backwards despite the playoff run last season which was helped massively by the covid break.

I don't blame certain fans for looking through blue tinted specs but finally EVERYONE can see that Harris is Slade part 2 but doing worse than Slade with better players at his disposal.

I just want to see him gone. The consistently stale and pathetic performances are so predictable now.

I would take Paul Cook tomorrow.

Make bamba caretaker manager until end of the season. Gives the club plenty of time to do some research and get a decent manager in.

I'm sorry but Benkovic and Nelson were both to blame for that header.

Fella, I will accept your negativity tonight because it's deserved after that (and recent) displays; but with respect, you were mainly negative well before Neil Harris arrived and you cannot claim different ;)

Actually I’d blame Harris. Defenders require an understanding, you don’t get that from training, he’s chosen not to play benkovic until now. Little wonder he looked ropey, it must have had an impact on nelson and it showed.

Sadly I have to largely agree with this comment......

“Cardiff were totally done by a third tier side. Wycombe won every second ball, Wycombe wanted it more
I believe.....
Wycombe did win most second balls and 50/50s.
Had Cardiff matched them for effort we would have won.
Had Harris made changes at 1/2 time to bring on Murphy and Hoillet, we would have won. The former for pace and the latter for effort. It gave us more movement. And options on the ball.
Had Wilson not missed 2 clearcut chances we would not have lost.

I also think that Glatzell (sadly) is not a good enough centre forward. If we can get some money in for Pack (awful signing) Flint and Glatzel then we should sell in Jan and get a couple of others in.

Harris has come in for some unfair criticism in the past, but tonight he deserves criticism, as do some players. WHY? Because this was a clear example where we had the better team but still managed to lose. :bluebird:
.

It’s time for him to go but let’s not kid ourselves that it’s all down to one man.

There is no forward thinking from anyone at the club.

From top to bottom Cardiff need a huge shake up, at the moment though potential buyers will now want to give less money due to the virus.

Think we are playing rotherham just at the right time for Harris there squad is decimated and a lucky win there will keep Harris dangling for another week

What is so galling for fans is the manner of defeats. Sloppy, individual errors have been coupled with collectively dire performances and despite having a talented squad, the manager isn't getting the best out of it right now. In fact, it's the complete opposite.
