Wow!
Sheffield Wednesday have terminated the contract of manager Tony Pulis with immediate effect.
Pulis joined the Owls in November and posted one win from 10 league games.
Chairman Dejphon Chansiri told swfc.co.uk:
“The performances and results have not been of the level expected since Tony Pulis was appointed. There are also other issues which have had a bearing on this decision.
“On the pitch, seven points from a possible 30 is not acceptable. It is vital we maintain our Championship status and I feel I must make a change now with over half of the season remaining to give us the best possible chance of doing so.”First team coach Neil Thompson will take charge of the team for Tuesday’s game against Middlesbrough and until a permanent appointment is made.
The club will be making no further comment at this time.

Strewth, they didn't hang about...but I guess if it's not working out (for whatever reason)
A Sheffield Wednesday statement by Chairman Dejphon Chansiri read:
"The performances and results have not been to the level expected since Tony Pulis' appointment" and
"There are other issues which have had a bearing on this decision"It will all come out in the wash, I'm sure

Had a look on Twitter and most are saying pulis isn’t the problem it’s the chairman. I didn’t realise that the chairman has plastered his name in big letters over stadium seats

Madness....6 weeks isn’t long enough and has a transfer window coming up ...they are 3 points off safety.
Maybe chairman is following the Watford model...sack appoint sack and continue but without the quality of players Watford have got

The guys a dinosaur and I’ve never liked his style of management. I hope to hell he’s not linked with us.

Wow that’s crazy he hasn’t been there long! I don’t think he’s the same manager he was a few years ago, seems to not have the same effect when he arrives anymore. If I remember correctly he did an amazing job at palace and kept them up when they were all but down then resigned and the club sued him and he owed them a lot of money. Seems to have gone downhill from then. Don’t want him here but wouldn’t be gutted if he did end up with us. Nigel Pearson would be my first choice after that maybe Bellamy

On paper he should be the perfect fit! He managed a rather successful Stoke side with a guy with a long throw and every player over 6ft. Exactly what Cardiff have been for the last 5 years +. Looking from the outside in seems that as a fan base you are stuck in a dilemma. You have watched your side have low possession, play route one football with set pieces, long throws etc.. for a number of years with a lot of success however, this comes with not an enjoyable watch. Therefore any dip in form results in high tempers and talk of sacking the manager. It seems there's a deeper problem routed at board level starting with tan talking about keepers needing to shoot more often and other ludicrous statements. If this club was a sims dvd whereby I could do anything, I would sack all the board, get a person as chairman who is totally football orientated and get Eddie howe for the long run!
