“ Neil Harris is right “

Sat Dec 26, 2020 8:12 pm

This is our third defeat in four games, and the football is poor. I can’t see any changing of our style of play.
It’s mainly long balls, and hoping to pinch a goal from a throw in or a set piece, teams who can play football we just don’t seem to be able to compete with Harris Certainly has the right.

Look at our record against the divisions top 5.

Played 5, Won 0, Drawn 1, Lost 4.

We seemed to be moving slowly away fy ‘warnickball’ as people call it but now we’re moving back to it. The trouble is we’re not doing it so well as when Warnock was in charge

All while Boro sit in the top 8.

Plenty in here wanted NW gone.

Others of us said we reap what we sow.

Well I certainly did not want Neil Warnock gone or Malky Mackay :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Nor me for NW. Too soon. Was his only really bad spell.

Man, we had people wanting him gone after our Xmas run the year we went up.

Malky I was happy for him to go. We had lost it. The Southampton game proved that.

I think anyone could have got us up with the money Malky spent.

Warnock went way to soon.

I am not going to go over old ground with you but many clubs have failed going up from the Championship with money.
We not only went up we went up as Champions and I still say we would of stayed up if Tan had not been hounding Malky 24/7.
Sadly we will never know now.

Very true Annis we will never know.

But for sure we wouldn’t have gone up without Tan’s money. As proven by the season before. We finished top 6 but were a very poor 2nd to West Ham.

We were on a losing run prior to his sacking. Teams had found us out.
That Southampton game is the worst performance this part time supporter had seen in a long time for effort and spirit.

Brentford are on a 13 or 14 game unbeaten run and I would presume most would have been happy with a draw. We're not the worse team in this division but people are making out like we're 6 points adrift at the bottom and every couple of weeks there's a poll about Harris staying or going depending on our latest few results. We're not a top 3 team but probably should and may still be top 6, we're not as bad as people are making out.

But apparently we compare to Brentford.

Harris even said it himself. Except he didn’t.

From the outside looking in, it seems you guys are stuck in an identity crisis. You want fast flowing football which is enjoyable to watch however, for the last ten years you have been relatively successful in the route one approach. There is nothing wrong with buying players above 6ft 2 and someone who can throw the ball half a pitch length as it will get you out of the championship however, your fans need to buy into this. When results go your way, it's great, however due too the repetitive nature of the brand of football you play, any dip in form results in manager out talk as if that will solve it.
