MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLUBS

Sat Dec 26, 2020 4:52 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLUBS LIKE BRENTFORD WOW / CARDIFF CITY CAN EASILY GET 33,000 & PROVEN / YET BRENTFORD LUCKY TO GET 9,000 CROWDS & YET HARRIS SAYS WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLUBS LIKE THEM.

FOR ME THIS SAYS THE CURRENT YES MAN MANAGER NEIL HARRIS & THE BOARD ARE NOT THE RIGHT PEOPLE RUNNING A CLUB AS BIG AS CARDIFF CITY.

TO ME TODAY WAS EMBARRASSING AGAINST A SMALL CLUB LIKE BRENTFORD TO SAY WE CANT COMPETE.

3pts lost at home

3 losses from our last 4 games

First-Half: Brentford had the better of the first 20mins, but as the game progressed City took control and Wow from the half-way line Will Vaulks scored a stunner 1-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

The game had not been lively, but the goal made up for it :bluebird: :bluebird:

TOP TWO DEF NO  PLAY-OFFS Hmmmmmm

CARDIFF CITY 2 BRENTFORD 3
H-T 1-0

Cardiff City (4-2-3-1): Smithies; Bacuna, Morrison, Nelson, Bennett; Ralls, Vaulks; Ojo, Wilson, Hoilett; Glatzel.

Subs: Phillips, Benkovic, Bagan, Cunningham, Pack, Patten, Whyte, Murphy, Harris.

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Brentford (Vaulks 45)

OH MY GOD! Will Vaulks from the halfway line!

That certainly was like a David Beckham old style goal

:bluebird:

15:55KEY EVENT
HALF-TIME! Cardiff City 1-0 Brentford

And that's the end of the first half. Wow.

15:49KEY EVENT
GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 Brentford (Vaulks 45)

OH MY GOD! Will Vaulks from the halfway line!

Vaulks played a one-two with Glatzel, who was on the halfway line, and the Welshman absolutely smacked one from 60 yards over the top of Raya and it's a goal!

That is reminiscent of Mark Hudson, but maybe better. A somersault follows. And City lead!

What a way to do it. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

H-T 1-0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-1 Brentford (Canos 50)

Canos equalised!

Another goalkeeper was lobbed! The ball falls to Canos 20 yards from goal after a shot is blocked and he hits a looped volley and it dips over Smithies and into the Cardiff net.

1-1

Brentford took control.

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-2 Brentford (Canos 65)

Canos doubles his tally for the day and it was another great strike.

1-2

Junior Hoilett off, Mark Harris on.

Brentford took charge of the game.

Cardiff City 1-3 Brentford (Canos 73)

A Canos hat-trick! He dinks it over Smithies and into the far post. The keeper will be disappointed with that.

1-3

GOAL! Cardiff City 2-3 Brentford (Vaulks 76) :bluebird: :bluebird:

Vaulks with another! A deflected volley off Ivan Toney and Cardiff are back in it!

Morrison wins the knockdown from the corner and Vaulks hammers a volley at goal before it takes a knock off the big striker and cannons past Raya.

3pts lost at home

100% agree with everything you say there Annis

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Well can’t complain with your thoughts Annis.

I’m not going to moan (Sven) NH has to take the blame and I think giving him players in the window will be a waste.

You know my opinion so I’ll keep quiet and open my cans.

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:03 pm

I think a win was a tough call before the game but having taken a deserved lead, we could have done a lot better; and even a draw against the more than decent Brentford would have been a good result

To lose is disappointing but we knew we had a tough couple of games either side of Christmas Day and so it proved

The second half quality of Canos (assisted by the wind) was the difference but a brace form Vaulks (one an absolute beauty) bodes well for the games ahead

Brush ourselves down and move on should be the mantra; more winnable games coming up (Wycombe next) and I have seen a resolve from the team that may hold them in good stead

If only the manager believed in them too, as I do wonder on times with his negative comments! :(

Karl, you're not deliberately negative; also, see my post above :thumbright: :laughing6:

Harris and his sidekick Sam Dingle are the reason we can't compete they are both fecking useless. Thomas Frank could out smart them both if he was fast asleep.

Sack Harris tonight or after Wycombe beat us but either way as Boris would say "Get It Done"

Taxi for the Yes man in my opinion. We need someone with Balls to not only tell the transfer committee really what we need, but also tell VT and the players to.... The minute you Stop getting better, you Start getting worse....

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:06 pm

I must have missed something but I haven’t read Harris saying we can’t compete with Brentford.

I’ve read him say we can’t compete with Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth with regards to their budgets and squads.

Smithies at fault with the 3 goals.Theres something to be said for a big keeper

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:07 pm

Have to agree with you Annis
dont think we will get anywhere near play offs..just not good enough or consistent...its all very winning 4 on the trot but 3
defeats out of 4 brings us a reality check
For me Harris contradicts himself ,...first he is happy with a very strong squad...now it can t compete. and is not big enough
Unfortunately Slade the 2nd will be with us til May.

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:08 pm

Not going anywhere under this current management team and need to freshen up the squad..

Tan and board need to make a decision, get rid of this clown and add some quality to the squad or finish mid table or below and de value the club.. which he has always said if he gets a good offer he would sell.. cant see there being good offers for a club going no where but downhill under the current regime.

15000in their new ground and semi final of the cup.a bit bigger than Cardiff at the moment . Cardiff sermon to be able to bully teams around them but can't compete with the footballing teams in top six.

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:10 pm

So utterly predictable. Our defensive record over the last few matches is awful. We are conceding at least two a game but we keep with the same back four? I thought we were good first half but then immediately wasted our positive position. Harris then does nothing until we are losing after 60 mins. Poor management. The best thing that can happen for this club at Christmas is for Harris to move on. Sadly not going to happen. We can get more out of this squad and should not be looking up at Brentford as a team to beat. The only positive is we have enough to avoid relegation this year.
Lastly its now over 8 years since our last Boxing day win. So many home games have been defeats too. What is it with us and Christmas? Thanks City for ruining festivities yet again!

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:11 pm

Yes,I agree.
4 wins was great but then we lose 3 from 4.
The manager isn't going anywhere especially with an empty CCS.

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Why does the manager making a stupid comment mean the board are the wrong people to run the club ?

The manager is just the wrong guy for a big club like Cardiff that is quite obvious but the board has no control over him making random stupid comments

The other day posters were saying Brentford are a club we should look at copying regards to transfers and finances, now they are a small club we should easily beat. They are a very good team built over a few seasons no matter the size of the club, what happens on the pitch is what counts not how many fans are in the ground.

Re: MY VIEW HARRIS HAD ALREADY SAID WE CANT COMPETE WITH CLU

Sat Dec 26, 2020 5:14 pm

Good question for everyone what as fantastic playing side like brentford with their wonderful recruitment team done in past 10yrs compared to city?
The answer gives you the problem city have got and it will take tan to sell and new owner to shift away from type of previous managers malky onwards .. this will cost time money and possibly relegation before see any benefits ... but Harris as tactically been found wanting like today

That's true but where the board are going wrong is constantly looking for the cheap option when appointing a manager.

3 loses from 4.

Ok you could argue those 3 loses were against teams that are classed as top 6 in the division but just look at the difference in class plus who they are. If we can't compete against them, which obviously we have shown we can't, then we have to admit there is something wrong.

We’re miles behind the likes of Brentford and Norwich.

Whoever decided to appoint Harris to a club of this size, recently relegated from the PL, made a bad error.

The last 3 Saturdays have seen City outplayed, outfought, outclassed and overrun.

The sooner this season ends can’t come quick enough for me.

Ditch Harris and have a decent clear out as the first step to taking the football club into the 21st century.

Quite right. With an attitude and mindset like that, we are heading in the wrong direction,,, and that, surly, cannot be tolerated!

Warnock wasn't cheap

They do but unlike brentford we've managed 2 promotions recently since they started their system of buying and selling players! What's needed is a total overall of manager and players to satisfy fans....but as just pointed out that only garauntees good football not promotion?

VT made a mistake buying so many clubs he was like a boy with money to spend. Should have concentrated on one and put his effort and money into it.

He and his board have continued to pick the wrong managers with exceptions.

The style of football is outdated and needs changing. It will take a huge change of direction and give it to a new man who has passion and vision!

Helps if the new man understands the passion of the supporters and not just say he does.

Malky was in his first managerial job and would not have been on a big wage.
Solskjaer I agree was probably not cheap.
Warnock was out of work so no compensation to pay and had a massive bonus for promotion so wages probably weren't terribly high.

Slade, Trollope, Harris all unwanted elsewhere and could hardly believe their luck getting the opportunity to manage Cardiff City.

I'm guessing though!

Thats the point against those saying board pick wrong men? How many championship owners have picked right man to get them promotion? We've had two since tan took over how many
managers/promotions have brentford had in same time ? Same can be said for 99.9% of championship clubs! Not style fans want but successful it's been without a doubt.
