Benkovic talking point

What in the world to do with Filip Benkovic?

The on-loan centre-back played for the under-23s yesterday against QPR but hasn't featured yet for Harris in the first team.

He can’t be very fit,I saw yesterday’s game and all he did was walk around pitch rubbing his legs in second half.
The standard wasn’t very good City had a lucky win.
If the kids play like that all time it’s a waste of time and money.
Don’t expect to see many in first team in future.

Apart from first team players looking for game time, the average age of our u23's is 19!! The good ones were promoted from under 18 squad.so if anything, reults wont be the main issue, more like youngsters gaining experience against players who are older.

If we are playing under 19s against older players they should learn more than just there own age.
I always believed that if a promising youngster had ability he would be pushing for the first team at that age19/20.
Are the boys really that bad they don’t make it?
Have recent managers had big squads so youngsters never had a chance to break through?
If the boys never made first team by 20 they probably never will do.

its not they are that bad , just not that good.. because in all fairness you have to be better than a hell of a lot of boys in your age group to be in the academy in the first place.. as for managers not using them.... thats just a stick to beat managers you do not like with....DJ used to get loads of abuse over it...

Tbf none our managers that I can remember we’re that good on promoting the youth. Jason Perry, Searle, jarman, Young came pretty close together and after that it was Earnie then Rambo.
