Why are Boro above us?

Sat Dec 19, 2020 8:01 pm

Yes more points, but pressure should still be on us as we should be in the play offs and when Warnock joined Boro their squad was worse than ours. The poor start means we need a great second half. If not Harris will be gone.

2 Words Neil Warnock

He is the greatest Championship manager the division has ever had. He works on the weaknesses, he motivates the players and he improves on the quality players the club might have. He overall improves the mentality and the spirit of the club he takes over. And gets success throughout his time there.

Because they have got off there f*cking knees

A more well rounded squad. Simple.

We have a better first XI but outside of that I would say they have more positions covered and better youth prospects coming through to fill the gaps when needed.

Where did it go wrong for us then.?
Signing agents twin sons, who had no hope of getting anywhere near the first time. Some pretty average signings.Ive named them in other posts.
We were his sort of club as I imagine are all the other clubs he's managed.

Wrong!!

We were promoted to the Premier league, had a decent shot at staying up - look at Fulham that season- and whilst I agree his signings when we came down weren't great, he wasn't helped by losing Manga and Reid close to the deadline and Etheridge getting injured first game.

Whilst it may have been time to go, if it went wrong it was due to replacing him with the cheap option. Harris did well to get us to the play offs but it was one of the lowest points totals to finish 5th. After the top 4 we were the best of a very mediocre bunch of play off challengers. Unfortunately it led the board-and a lot on this forum- to believe Harris is better than he is.

NW is a 2/3 season mr fixit after that his brand of football fails to work generally because players burnt out with the amount of effort put in... great manager unquestionably

His signings of Vaulks, Bacuna, Pack have set our midfield back years.

Glatzel has been quite a poor signing overall too.

Neil Harris has brought in far superior players in his short time. Ojo, Osei-Tutu, Moore & Wilson are all our best players this season.

Why are Boro above us?

Because he has not had time to fcuk the club up so no one else can fix it for seasons after he left.

He left, he wasn't sacked when he realised that Glatzel, Vassell, Flint, Packs,Nelson, Vaulks & Whyte added all together couldn't replicate what Gunnar, Bruno gave us.

I love him, but it was almost statistically impossible to buy so more shit players, one needed to be a gem.

He is a great coach and motivator and didn't fancy the three season it was going to take to undo the fcuk ups.

so fucked up those players { although well short of who we had lost } did make the play offs ??????? ...statistically ? wtf... 5 of those started the last game that we won against Birmingham... so crap but good enough to win games and be top half ?
you do not lose 7 of the 13 players youve been using the most in the previous season }{ manga, bamba, arter, gunner., victor. ken. bobby reid... plus niasse... and replace on a budget that covers who you have named and it all just be seemless .... now that is statistically impossible and a ridiculous expectation... .... no, vaulks is not or was ever going to be like for like or even close to being a gunner or victor..and anyone who thought he would be is completely deluded..better costs more its how football works..... and more often than not buying a 5mill player to replace an 8 mill player is going to b a downgrade to.... he left because the playstation , 3 groups of numbers , fruitloops were campaigning , everyone knows this no matter how many times the mentioned try to duck away from it with the silly excuse...... why the hell would someone with his record and reputation stay to accept abuse or try to appease and have to prove himself again to fools...
somebody said he bought quantity over quality....
which is correct.. but it also had to be due to those who were leaving... Norwich who went down last season have lost only 2 of their 13 most used... and were therefore only looking to bring in 2 before before it became actually strengthening... not a complete rebuild like we had to do.. and if this fella takes us up itll be same as... people having meltdowns because 5mill doesnt get you harry kane...but it should because your the Cardiff manager..

you implied it was ridiculous to sign a player who has already played 72 games for us... there must be hundreds of players bought over the last 2 years whose clubs have had a lot less service from
and followed up by implying we should have been playing someone disinterested and overweight { mental health issues apparently } who wasnt exactly pulling trees up on loan in lge1 .. so it was either the credit cards or the frogs...

Warnock went the majority of his managerial career hated by most fans and slated by managers, pundits and fans of teams he was not manager of. And you seriously think he left because a handful of fans were moaning on a forum!? No chance. More to with him spending a massive amount of money, had us heading in one direction in the league whilst playing terrible football. If he didn't walk he would have been sacked.

He is a brilliant manager and worked wonders for us for which he will always be respected by the majority of cardiff fans. But all his previous success does not change the fact that last season was a total disaster under him. And his signings are largely responsible for the total lack of pace and quality in this squad.

Re: Why are Boro above us?

Its what he does and there isn't a manager that does it better. He rescues struggling teams and completely turns their form around. He did it with us and he is doing it at boro. If we don't make the playoffs, I hope boro do and he gets them promoted.

The fans were turning, yea. Football is a results business and we weren't getting the results. Simple. We were sold a business model and at no point did we look like a team who would be anywhere near promotion. Despite the bad results and performances at no point did I hear anything anti warnock during the games directed at him. Even after the embarrassing performance we put on at swansea. Fans expressed their concerns online. It was hardly a witch hunt.

We lost important players, yea. Every team does. But his replacements didnt work out and left us with a very limited squad. Flint, It was pointed out on here that teams would take advantage of the lack of pace. So to protect them we signed pack, who is just as slow. Teams took full advantage of that. £5.5mill on a target man who can't play that role. Vassel, poor injury record. Best part of 20mill there on those players and we play better when they are not in the starting 11. Results weren't good, painful viewing and signings that didn't work out. All when we were meant to have been building for promotion. It was a disaster. And if it wasnt, why are you so anti Harris when he did a better job than warnock did last season? Its a bit hypocritical to call someone an idiot because they want change because the club is undeperforming, when you've been pretty anti Harris despite him delivering with a squad warnock failed with. Warnock was and is a brilliant manager but we were in decline and he needed to go.
