A union man approaching 40 years and suffered several major strikes caused by the deliberate actions of both main Parties; but no affiliation to any specific political party

However, I did join Fairwater Conservative Club for a few years, as it had snooker tables, friendly patrons and a decent pint before City games back in the day!

I do take an interest though and take politicians on their deeds rather than their pre-election promises. There's good, bad and indifferent in all...

More inclined to do charity work (MS, Cancer and one other unnamed) than get involved in politics (local or other) but it doesn't mean I don't have a say, opinion and/or view because I don't 'actively' participate in said politics

Your comment on 'quislings' in the thread that prompted this one was disrespectful to all who it was aimed at

Low blows like that cheapen the Forum and band groups of people you don't actually know into a single genre, which is base, somewhat lazy and usually lacking in substance as a response to the original point

Good on you for getting involved though; it's a dirty job but someone has to do it! :ayatollah:

Yes, but you haven't told us which political party - give us a clue at least.

Just read your post. There's probably a fair bit in it which I'd disagree - to begin with for many, possibly most, work has been an integral part of their lives, to be enjoyed, meet people, keep them active physically and mentally. That you relish the fact your 'working' life was anything but, and ended mid-stream, isn't anything to brag about - I'm 67 and am still working on a couple of projects - by choice.

But what strikes me is that in one post you're bragging, boasting, showing off, about what a wonderful person you are, putting the world to right, and in the next mocking the hard-working folk who are even now probably paying for your pension.

Personally, I don't really beleive a single word you've said in either. I'm pretty certain though, that you're not someone I or most here , would care to associate with.

Nope never have never will. They are all a bunch of self serving un democratic parasites. Just remember the left wing and the right wing belong to the same bird.

Never have been involved in politics and I'm glad I stayed out. For me they are all the same and that being they only care for themselves. Well that is my experience after living through a Conservative and Labour Government. I'm struggling to see where they were different.

As for doing something about it well I've gone down the route of helping myself first. Once I'm in a good position and get the luxury I will help others. Well I've done a bit of that already and those who know me will vouch for that.

From what I am seeing these days getting involved in politics is toxic and its getting worse. I'll stay out of it as I could do without it. Saying that if someone comes along that pushes my like buttons well you never know.

I was mocking the Toriy voters on here not the hard working people of this country.Things have got tougher with regards to pension scheme closures and extension of the retirement age.I still to my bit with regards volunteering at a local food bank.

They are both the same Chief they both answer to the same people that’s why when people say there is no difference when in power between Labour and Tory. They do as they are told. Elections are there to make us think we have a choice when in reality we don’t.
