Cardiff City :bluebird: could welcome Josh Murphy back into the fold this weekend, with the winger having missed the midweek clash with Birmingham City due to illness.

The Bluebirds are likely to be boosted by the return of Joe Ralls, who has served his one-match suspension following his red card against Swansea City in the South Wales derby last weekend. Neil Harris said Ralls has carried a niggling injury over recent weeks, though, so it is not a formality that he slots straight back in.

Junior Hoilett remains a doubt, however, with the Canadian having been absent from the last three matches owing to a hip flexor issue.

Other longer-term absentees include Kieffer Moore (hamstring), Jordi Osei-Tutu (hamstring) and Lee Tomin (groin), all of whom will not be in contention this weekend.

Isaac Vassell is also a long-term absentee.

As for the hosts, they are still without a number of injured players, including the likes of goalkeeper Tim Krul, young attacker Adam Idah and winger Onel Hernandez.

CCFC Team News: :bluebird:

Junior Hoilett :bluebird:

When asked about Hoilett's chances of making the Norwich clash this weekend, Harris did not sound overly confident, so it might just come a little bit too soon for him.

Expected return : Boxing Day.

Kieffer Moore out till middle of January at best.

Lee Tomlin, Isaac Vassell and Jordi Osei-Tutu are all still the long-term

FILIP BENKOVIC IS NOT INJURED / HE IS FIT 7 HAS NOW BEEN WITH CARDIFF CITY FOR 10 WEEKS.

Not played one minute for the Bluebirds.

Harris has even played Bamba before Benkovic.

Benkovic had a full pre-season training and arrived ready to play.

Its true Leicester want to terminate the season long loan send Benkovic another club in January.

About Norwich City

Norwich City Football Club (also known as The Canaries or City) is an English professional football club based in Norwich, Norfolk, that competes in the Championship, the second division of English football. The club was founded in 1902. Since 1935, Norwich have played their home games at Carrow Road and have a long-standing and fierce rivalry with East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town, with whom they have contested the East Anglian derby 134 times since 1902. The fans' song "On the Ball, City" is the oldest football chant in the world, written in 1890 and still sung today.

Norwich have won the League Cup twice, in 1962 and 1985. The club's highest ever league finish came in 1992–93 when they finished third in the Premier League.

The club participates in characteristic yellow and green kits and are nicknamed The Canaries after the history of breeding the birds in the area (said to be introduced around the 16th century by a group of European immigrant weavers in the area known as "The Strangers").

Thanks, fella; we can all have a day off on your 'totally negative before we even kick off' say so!

For the record, I would never write off this team before a game and we are more than capable of a result the way we set up, if we can cancel out the individual errors

You may end up being right; but this team are resilient, as shown in 5 of the last 6 games ;) :bluescarf:

Karl, it's a possibility but unlikely; and the Bluebird side are pretty resilient even with their own 'fans' writing them off before the event

Norwich are good but not infallible and our style seems to work well away from home

If you look at the goal difference of both sides it is apparent that Norwich have mastered the art of winning games by a single goal. We have both conceded 18 goals and Norwich have scored just one more goal than us yet have 11 more points thanks to all those single goal victories. This suggests a score of 1-0 or 2-1 to Norwich Saturday. We are not going to make the top two so a draw would be a very good result for us. Brentford are good but not the force they were last season having lost their two best strikers so we have every chance of beating them.

Don't know why, but I just got a feeling about Saturday that we'll get something.

Been to Norwich a few times and seen us both win and lose. I would go for a victory by the odd goal, but Norwich are always late scorers, always have been. So for me it'll be a point, having led for a period of time.

1-1

My first ever experience if seeing City on MOTD as a kid was when we drew away at Norwich 1-1 in about 1975 (?). Couldnt believe I was watching our team on TV and an away match at that.

Can't remember rightly who scored that day, but Clive Charles is sticking in my memory for some reason? Perhaps he got sent off or scored? Anyone remember?

only been there once ,was the first prem year...was the most 1 sided no score draw ive ever seen , 31 shots sticks in my mind but must have been about 20 corners as well.. it felt like we were defending the Alamo.. but id take a repeat Saturday...

Jordi Osei-Tutu :bluebird:

It is thought that Osei-Tutu will return to the first-team training group between Christmas and New Year.

Expected return : Beginning of January for training.

Lee Tomlin :bluebird:

Tomlin is recovering from groin surgery, but it is a tricky one, because the wound is in a place which can be opened so easily if training is resumed too soon.

Having undergone his operation over a month ago, it is thought he is around halfway to being able to train properly once again, so don't expect him back in the first-team training group until at least the middle to end of January.

Expected return : February for training .

Josh Murphy :bluebird:

Expected return : This weekend.

Junior Hoilett :bluebird:

When asked about Hoilett's chances of making the Norwich clash this weekend, Harris did not sound overly confident, so it might just come a little bit too soon for him.

Expected return : Boxing Day.

Kieffer Moore :bluebird:

I would be hugely surprised if he plays that game, though, with Harris also admitting that the league is rightly the priority this season.

Expected return : Mid-January.

Aden Flint :bluebird:

Expected return : February.

Isaac Vassell :bluebird: :bluebird:

What the long-term future holds for Vassell is, quite frankly, anyone's guess. But his story over the last few years is a really sad one.

Let's hope he can find some fitness, a bit of luck and, whether it's in the Welsh capital or not, a future in the game. Because at 27 it is a real shame that his career is heading in this direction.

Expected return :Totally Unknown.

Wonder if it's worth featuring Josh Murphy at some stage of this game on the basis of players always scoring against their old club something to prove etc. He would certainly be a fresh pair of legs.

Norwich aren't a big physical side and I expect their manager will have run his eye over the way the jacks dismantled us.To get anything out of this we'll have to ruffle their feathers a bit and bank on our wingers getting plenty of set pieces.

Match facts

Cardiff completed the league double over Norwich the last time the sides shared the same division, winning 2-0 at Carrow Road on route to promotion back in 2017-18.

Norwich have lost more league games at home to Cardiff in the last seven clashes (2) than they did across the first 19 times they hosted the Bluebirds (1).

Norwich have won five of their last seven home league games (D2), this after picking up just one point from their previous seven at Carrow Road (D1 L6).

Cardiff have won their last two away league games, as many as they had in their first seven on the road this season (W2 D3 L2).

After winning his first league meeting with Norwich in August 2017, Cardiff boss Neil Harris has lost his last three against the Canaries (all with Millwall).
