Birmingham manager Aitor Karanka said:

"We should have been better in the first 20 minutes with the way we approached the game, when you don't start theme it takes time but we finished the first-half much better and then when we had control of the game, we had two or three individual mistakes which cost us.

"When you play away from home, score two goals and have the game under control it is very disappointing (to lose).

"Mistakes are difficult to plan for, we knew how dangerous they were with Wilson when he plays as a winger and we knew how dangerous Morrison is from set pieces, but we conceded those goals.

"We need to learn, because we had individual mistakes against Watford as well, they have been awful for us."

In parts they looked more comfortable but "controlling the game" is a bit of a claim. They were pretty poor for the most part.

For me our knowledge of Etheridge is why we got that late winner and that being his weakness is controlling his area when it is packed. He was no where to be seen when Morrison rose to head in the winner.

I agree with their manager that they made a few mistakes. The first goal for us was definitely a comedy of errors by the Brummies. The third goal was an error by them as described above. The 2nd goal I will put down to skill more than an error. That pass would have caught out most defences and on the end of it was our only Premier standard player we have who anyone would put money on him scoring.

Birmingham scored 2 excellent goals but take those away I thought they were poor. Hence why I'm not getting carried away. Let's see how we do against Norwich and Brentford before we start getting back our confidence we had going into the Swansea game.

Sort of agree mate but it was a hell of a ball in and a very well timed run by SM. Many keepers would have struggled there imo.

We are seeing what a difference it makes having quality delivery from set pieces

That’s right mate. Last night’s ball in reminded me of the regulars that dear Whitts used to regularly launch in from corners

I keep thinking that about Wilson. Seems similar to Whitts in so many ways but with a bit more pace.

I think that’s why he’s been and gonna be a good premier league player.
