MY VIEW " PAPERS OVER THE CRACKS "

CARDIFF CITY 3-2 BIRMINGHAM CITY

AFTER THE AWFUL DISPLAY AGAINST SWANSEA, TONIGHT SAW ANOTHER POOR PERFORMANCE BT CARDIFF CITY AGAINST BIRMINGHAM

I HAVE CONSTANTLY TRIED TO SUPPORT NEIL HARRIS BUT HE DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE A CLUE WHAT HE'S DOING AT TIMES

WE MAY HAVE SNATCHED A LATE WINNER/EQUALISER BUT THIS LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT HOME TO BIRMINGHAM

Neil Harris had to make changes, with Joe Ralls suspended and Kieffer Moore injured. He brought in Marlon Pack, Gavin Whyte and Robert Glatzel - with Mark Harris the other player who missed out.

He named three academy players on the bench.

Neil Etheridge started in goal for Birmingham.

Cardiff took the lead in the tenth minute when Robert Glatzel scored :bluebird:

Marc Roberts equalised for Birmingham in the 21st minute

Cardiff were poor in the first half

HT: 1-1

Will Vaulks started the second half by having two long range efforts that didn't trouble Etheridge

Birmingham took the lead in the 57th minute when Ivan Sanchez scored

Both goals that Birmingham scored up to this point, came from terrible Cardiff defending

Morrison hit the post in the 70th minute

Cardiff City were awarded a penalty in the 74th minute after a handball, but Etheridge saved Glatzel's spot kick

Harry Wilson equalised in the 77th minute, after great work by Marlon Pack :bluebird:

Sean Morrison got City an undeserved winner in the 89th minute :ayatollah: :bluebird:

FT: 3-2

3-2 to City. Could be a massive win
Because they showed CHARACTER AND SPIRIT- something we have not always seen this season :bluebird:

"Papers over the cracks" lok

5 wins in 6 games, 1 point away from the playoffs, and the majority can't help but moan.

Harris had a poor start to the season and was rightly criticized, but he's turned it around in magnificent fashion. Deserves a lot more time and a lot more respect.

Still along way to go to convince me. I'm with Ned on this one.

Papers over the cracks! Christ we need more than wallpaper.

Brings on a young lad who couldn’t get into the Wrexham side whilst on loan, followed by grandad Bamba and another left back to cover another poor left back. I thought we were bad but we are in trouble.

We’ve got no chance in the next 2 games that’s for a start. :bluescarf:

I think papering over the cracks is a little bit harsh. We showed at the end of last season how good we can be, we've improved our squad since then and we seem to be getting better, winning 5 of our last 6 games.

We weren't brilliant tonight, neither were we against Stoke, but we won. The other winning games we put in very solid performances.

I think we're slowly finding ourselves and with 2 or 3 new players in Jan, ideally a RB, CF & wide player, we will be there or there about again.

We were bad for the second half of the first half, normally we start so spying but it didn’t seem the case, got the goal and seemed ok defensively.

Then made a silly mistake at a set piece, allowed them to score, from then we were poor. Second half started how the first ended, and until the subs were made we never looked like scoring, Wilson had a few glimpses of goal but Etheridge saved comfortably.

I personally don’t rate pack, has a great pass on him 1 in 10 games and today was his 1, Wilson Calmly finished it off.

We weren’t t the races today, but if anyone wants to compare the attitudes of us and the Jack’s because we lost to them last time out, this time we got 3 points and they got none. The league is tight, we are closer than any of us would have thought 6 or 7 games ago.

We need to find a way to make our good players consistent, some have glimmers of class, then are dogshit for 3 matches

Like no chance in our last 2 away games? I'm in the front line regarding criticism of Harris's tactics but to say got no chance next 2 games this is based based on what one game Swansea? Certainly cant base it on last 6 games because we've won 5 of them...

We keep giving the ball away cheaply in midfield, their 2nd goal was a replica of Swansea on Saturday. How many tackles did he ride before blasting a cracking goal. Ojo has been better of late, but he seems to think he is better than he really is. He needs to cut that out and concentrate more on the simple things!

It’s based on the games well before that. This team plays great one minute and disappear the next.

I certainly don’t know what they do at training and at the moment Harris is hanging by a string!

If we play like that tonight against the next 2 we will lose, get your money on it :bluescarf:

Thanks Ned :thumbright:

I totally agree with you, but it’s a results game and 5 out of our last 6 games Harris has won and thats what keeps him in his job and we can’t complain with those results :bluebird:

Play like that on Saturday and we will suffer a drubbing. Surely Bennett must be dropped. Ojo poor tonight. White not good enough for the Championship.

It's about now not at beginning of season IF we play like it? Same was said about Watford game never two games same in football as Swansea will tell you tonight! We could play brilliant and lose that's what happens in football we could have one shot on target and win it happens.... anyway your onto a winner if lose both you'll say told you so.... if we win say got lucky or wont say nothing! :o

No winners there then I hope we win every game but we don’t look as a team. We were lucky tonight no doubt they didn’t take their chances I’m sure the next 2 will if they get them. Still think the team is set up wrong but hey ho he gets paid a lot of money to F*** up. :bluescarf:

Me too; but this was a well earned win and 5 from 6 would have had us in raptures had it not been for that one game; more the performance than the opposition for me

3-2 missed a pen.Injury crisis.
Tomlin,Moore,Tutu Ralls missing .15 out of 18

Only managed to see the last 30 mins, as was busy tonight.

That last 30 minutes did frustrate me, however, if you think about it, we coped with Birmingham very easily in the last 30, we could have scored three more ( pen included).

My absolute biggest issue is that our players seem to think that winning a ball is the be all and end all. There is no thought about distribution. Our defensive headers from their long balls are headed either into no mans land or straight back to their players!!

One has the impression that had this win been earned under Malky or Warnock there would be comments praising our resilience, our determination and never say die attitude in scrapping out 3 points from a mixed performance.
