Does anybody know when the office block by Splott market was built..think it was the Dowlais works offices..

II it helps, I know the Dowlais Works (Steel Mill) opened in 1890 after relocating from Merthyr, so assume the office block was around the same time, if not too far behind
I believe it closed in the late 70's
My grandfather worked there and we lived locally (my father was a foundryman on the Queen Alexander Dock) when I was a youngster before he moved on to other things

The place in Titan road? now called the Cardiff Bay Business centre I think. Me and a mate painted the windows there back in the 70's, it looked like a typical big 1950's style office block over three floors with crittal steel windows.

I may well have the wrong building, if it was off-site
