What did we expect?

Sat Dec 12, 2020 2:38 pm

Did we really think we had a chance today?
Once Harris decided to go 4-4-2 we had no chance against a Swansea team who dominated the game with a 5 man midfield.
Our hit and hope football was no match for Swansea's pass and move style of play.
We knew how they were going to set up yet chose to stick to our rigid boring formation.
You cant blame the players, we just don't have the movement and pace to compete with a footballing side.
Top 6 by January?
Mehmet you're having a laugh!

I said the same on thursday, but mainly as keeping same team for this long, must have had an effect on those players, and deffo should have changed the formation!
While it hurts,12 points from 15 is still a good return.our players who were picked today looked leggy to me,no 2nd gear!

A change of players was needed for this game, and formation, but I dont see posts from you when this "boring" formation was winning the previous 4 games???

Lets not kid ourselves, ok we won 4 on the bounce but were we really that good in those games?
our style of play is awful to watch but sometimes it works in our favour but it was never going to work against a well coached and well set up Swansea team.

I think Harris should have used the 5 subs allowed, especially when Ralls was sent off. Same team for 5 games so close together was always going to be a risk. We were leggy with 11 men so should have freshened the team up. Not saying it would have changed the result but might have been able to close them down more.

I think Harris's plan was to bring on Glatzel to play alongside Moore but his injury scuppered that.
Mark Harris for all his efforts the last few games should have been hooked a lot earlier and we should have gone with a 5 man midfield.
Swansea wont have an easier win this season!

We do have the players we just don't have the right manager

A good manager would get this squad promoted

I don't think a better manager would get us promoted, but he'd be challenging for the top six, Harris won't be by the spring.

No we were crap and boring against Watford and stoke both away and both sides above us at time no idea how we won the other two either pure luck I guess... :laughing6:
Surprised you didnt know football is about contrasting styles of play it's not all Barcelona type football and it doesn't always win you games same as 75% possession doesn't garauntee winning... goals win you games no matter how you play
