Tony Pulis makes frank admission about Sheffield Wednesday on loan Aden Flint

Aden Flint is out injured until at least January and Pulis has his doubts regarding Flint returning to the Owls.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Tony Pulis has admitted he is unsure whether loan Aden Flint will return to Hillsborough.

Centre-half Flint is back at his parent club Cardiff City receiving treatment for calf injuries respectively.

Flint, who has worked with Pulis before at Middlesbrough, has not featured since October.

Flint joined the Owls on a season long-loan deal.

TONY PILIS:

"Flinty has gone back to his mother clubs. Obviously I know Aden really well. We will have to wait and see whether we will see them again. I'm not so sure."

"There will be incomings and outgoings at S6 when the transfer window reopens next month, according to Pulis. He has spoken to the recruitment team, outlining the areas he feels must be addressed to give the club the best opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone."

He said: "I am too long in the tooth now to pussyfoot around. There are players that we need and players we have to try and get and that’s my responsibility. It’s my job to convince the powers that be of the situation and what we need to give us as good a chance as we possibly can. I have that on my shoulders."

"I have a responsibility to the chairman, the staff, the players and the supporters of this football club. I will be saying and doing things that I think the football club needs and I won't be doing it in any other way other than to try and benefit the football club."

Attacking additions will be at the top of Pulis' priority list in the club's battle to retain their Championship status. Wednesday have hit the back of the net a paltry nine times in 17 matches.

"We’ve got players coming back and we need to glean as many points as we possibly can before the window opens," said Pulis, whose side entertain Barnsley tomorrow.

"I will be really honest and open with the chairman about what I think is needed and what we can and we can't do.

"My responsibility is to not sit back and let things drift. My responsibility is to actually tell him (the chairman) the truth on how I feel the team and the club is.

In all seriousness. If they have signed for him for a season long loan do they have to pay his wages for the whole season?

' ADEN FLINT RETURNS TO CARDIFF INJURED '

The Deal Cardiff had with Sheffield Wednesday:

Aden Flint now back at Cardiff injured.

Sheff Wed believed to paying Aden Flints full wages approx £26,000 a week.

Loan | Flint joins Sheffield Wednesday

Aden Flint has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan.

The centre-back arrived in the Welsh capital in July 2019, making 30 appearances in the City shirt to date.

We’d like to wish Aden all the best while away from Cardiff City Stadium.

NEIL are you going to continue to derail topics with your pure nonsense?
If so please join another forum ASAP.

Neil, for me the deal should have said Flint is your player for a season, so your totally responsible, till the season finishes. end off.

They broke him. They should pay to fix him.

Season-long deal is a season-long deal.

My sentiments exactly, if I loaned you my car and you broke it,I would expect you to pay for it!!

All depends on the terms and conditions of the loan deal. No idea of how these things are structured but I would imagine that if the deal is a season long loan the club taking the player is responsible for the players wages for the season and takes the risk of him being injured. Maybe Pullis is just indicating they don't want him back in the hope we do want him to get him off their wage bill. If Leicester recall Bekovic, and surely they will he might be useful as back up for Morrison and Nelson.

Pulis the wily old fox.

He’s just trying to tell Harris that he doesn’t want him. However he’s signed for them and they are obliged to pay his wages in full. It’s automatic that an injured player goes back to his home club for them to get him right.

It’s a weight on them not us and will affect them in the transfer window.

He won’t be training until the end of January and without any problems he won’t be match fit until the end of March at least.

Unlucky Tony you’ll be paying for him whether he comes back or not.

Who the f**k edited my comment?

For those wondering what it was.

I simply said how did the transfer committee not realise he would get injured before sending him on loan to Sheff Wednesday.

A f*cking joke.

It’s still above in other comments but has been removed from my post.

Season long loans often have recall clauses. Mainly to protect host club if they have injuries or if player loaned isn't featuring. There will be injury clauses too we just have no idea what they are.

Bale comes to mind. No way Tottenham paying his full wage AND taking the risk on him being injured. Madrid wanted rid too badly.

The mystery deepens eh fellow 62r?
Can see him being recalled in January personally, leicester surely expected him to at least have had even 10 mins by now?
Harris stuck to his guns, and players today, when I believed he should have changed it up,4 games for the same team is tough on the players.
