Say it quietly, but Cardiff have put down promotion marker

Despite it not exactly being a flawless performance last night, it's hard to take issue with the reality of four wins on the bounce.

There's clearly still plenty of work to be done to get into that top six, but to earn six points from Watford and Stoke City - two sides many would expect to be in the promotion mix come the end of the season - lays down a big marker.

Harris once again reaffirmed the importance of 'consistency' in the Championship when he chatted to the media afterwards, having already shown the benefit of stringing together a run of form last season after the campaign resumed after lockdown.

Not since Neil Warnock have they managed four wins on the spin in the Championship - and we all know how that turned out. Promotion.

It's important to not get carried away, of course, but there's a real feeling that Cardiff are now beginning to flex their muscles in this year's promotion race too.
