" Referee for Saturday "

John Brooks

Having looked back over the stats, we have never won a game with him in charge.

He courted controversy by disallowing our last minute goal against Wigan at home last year, and is certainly not one of my favourite refs.

Our record with him is 2 draws and two losses. Looks like he was promoted to the Championship in 18/19, and has not reffed in the Prem.

Caused a huge stir at Arsenal when he was caught on camera after a game at the Emirates suggesting that the away team go and congratulate their supporters as they had paid well over the odds for their match ticket. Much as he may have been correct, It was caught on MOTD cameras and is on you tube.

My choice for such a game would have been a Prem ref or the likes of Stroud, Madley, Robinson, or the Aussie Jarred Gillett.

get Mike Dean in for this one - we might need another last minute penalty ;)

Tony Harrington did a good job in January.

In a way, I'm sometimes surprised they don't bring in someone who regularly referees Premier League games for this fixture.

Not suggesting one of their top referees like Anthony Taylor or Michael Oliver. But someone with experience.

People like Kevin Friend, Craig Pawson, Andre Marriner, Jon Moss, Stuart Attwell etc.

They have done this in the past, but not for a while.

I'd be surprised if he would give us anything after some muppet threw his bus fare at his head from the Bob Bank

Although that was before the penalty mind so who knows! :D

Thing with Keith Stroud, is he gets an awful lot of the televised games for some reason.

I think he is OK and highly experienced. We went through a period of about 3 or 4 years she we couldn't win with him in charge, but things change.

One thing he isn't is biased, if he is bad, it's usually for both teams!

Haha! The Jacks hate Tony Harrington, ever since he sent off one of their perfect one's at Bristol City last year.

Harrington had us last night at Stoke.

Talking about the Jacks and refs, why oh why do they always put up with Ayew in their faces whenever he doesn't get a decision, and at the end of the game if they haven't won???

I hope Pawson never refs us again after the Chelsea game where he and his assistants cheated us out of the probable win that would have kept us in he prem.

Interestingly, Pawson refused to send off Anderson (?) For Newcastle after he Violently kicked out at Camarasa when Pawson was stood not two yards away.

He most definately is a big team ref, who, in my opinion, basis his decisions on how big the team are, and how foolish he will look if he lets a smaller side win a game!

that may well be the case, but he was badly let down by his linesman for their equalizer too. However, the refusal to send off the last man that pulled Zohore back when he was clean through on goal can only be described as you say as big team bias or perhaps worse...

It was strange that Kevin Friend did the Bluebirds v Huddersfield midweek game, then Chelsea v Leeds at the weekend - so he hadn't been a naughty boy. It just seemed a weird game to upgrade the ref even though he is not currently on the FIFA list.

These are the current England FIFA refs
ATTWELL Stuart
COOTE David
KAVANAGH Christopher
MADLEY Andrew
OLIVER Michael
PAWSON Craig
TAYLOR Anthony
TIERNEY Paul

Because he'll cry if they ignore him that's why he goes around screaming for pen or a foul after hes dived falling over opposition shoe lace! :D
